Went for dinner and a stroll, and it was great! South beach bar and grill has the BEST fish tacos, and the ice cream shop next door is the next stop after dinner. Beautiful sunset here, especially from the pier. Check out the shops and chat with the locals...great time!

I love to walk up and down the streets of downtown Ocean Beach and visit all the antique malls. It is so fun, and I can spend an entire day there!

We were there in the evening, meant to just take a beach walk, but of course the kids ended up playing in the water and had a great time. We appreciated the bathrooms and outdoor showers. Parking was available on a weekday evening. My daughter left her (expensive!) athletic shoes on the ground after washing off, and when we came... More

The beach varies depending on where you park. The part I visited was in a cove...and teenagers were jumping off a cliff into the surf. The beach is easy access...but the water is cleaner elsewhere along the coast. The town of Ocean Beach has a number of unique specialty shops.

Ocean Beach has great potential, it is a beautiful beach. It is cleaner than the last time we went, not as much litter. For adults only the beach is a great place to hang out. THE LOW RATING is because this time we were there with our children and that was mistake. We had at least 4 transients at different... More

Don't come to this place, is crap!, a lot of kids ages of 17-23, pretending to be homeless and wanna be hippies, complaining all the time about the law and society, they don't contribute to the community, in any way!!. they cause a lot of trouble to this community and they are destroying it. I don't understand why law enforcement... More

This beach is more run down that other beaches. Lots of hippies, backpackers, bums, and hipsters in and at this beach. I did get the feeling that we had to watch our bags at all time. I would not go back to this beach, just because there are better ones around. The locals love it due it not being overridden... More
