The ocean is the hi-lite but all the neat little shops, eateries and pubs along the strip is really good. Lots of history and sights here and an easy going relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Park the car, get there early though, it is always packed! take a nice stroll around OB's Newport Ave if you get hungry.. well theirs Hodads for the best burgers in town , go... More

We went the other day to browse through the antique and vintage shops. Such great fun. OB Warehouse, South Coast and Hodads are great little eats!

OB has a wonderful Farmer's Market on Wednesday afternoons, and is a cute little beach town. It's only a walk away from Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma, and not far from everything else San Diego has to offer.

Although my least favorite popular beach in San Diego, I've been to many that are worse (in other states and countries). We went on a sunny July afternoon, but the water wasn't particularly nice, and there was an abundance of kelp. There is a different vibe here, with no shortage drum circles and pot smokers. If you're on vacation and... More

OB is a weird place with lots of sketchy people. The pier is a nice walk but tough to access because you have to walk through the area where all the homeless gather. The constant plane noise is a minus for me. OB is dog friendly (I like dogs) but all the dogs and poop..another minus for me. The beach... More

Ocean bean had a great restaurant but all the homeless people begging was obtrusive. Once you got to the ocean it was fun to watch the dogs at the dog park and go out onto the pier. Heads up those are some very aggressive seagulls and pelicans.

The location is perfect to listen to the waves and step off. The property and you are in the middle of the exciting downtown. Short walk. To the epic walking pier. The hotel itself is average but the location makes it that much more appealing.

Funky town and a place that has to be experienced in person. From the homeless kids and Veterans panhandling on the beach approach to the dog beach. Newport St is lined with cool and eclectic shops and resturants. Hodads is a must see stop for the burgers and shakes. Walking out on one of the longest piers on the west... More
