This is a place you can go to everyday and experience something different. Always good vibes. One of my favorite spots is by the cliffs. Awesome view of the ocean and sunset. Awesome place to hear the sound of the ocean. Really zen

Ocean Beach is a great place to go! The neighborhood are friendly.. there are some bars where you can have lot of fun and enjoy some reggae music.. otherwise, you can just get into a Karaoke and have fun singing the old classics.. Nice restaurants and a really nice beach. I would say that isn't the prettiest one I've been... More

Ocean Beach is a bit seedy. I think there are more beautiful beaches in SD. It's ok if you are young and want to surf, other wise try another beach.

Not that great but the dog area was great! We took our pup along and he had a blast although there is not a wash down spot. The water is full of kelp and there was a weird current the day we went. If they added a doggy wash down area this beach would be. one. of the best!

This beach is better for adults, no roller coasters or carnival games just nstural beach. It has the 2nd longest pier on the West Coast at 1/2 mile with poeple fishing off it. The water is great to swim in with a nice shallow entrance & it gradually gets deeper. Great for new ocean swimmers like me to get more... More

Fun to watch surfers. All that you could see in the distance was smog though. Lots of homeless people and potheads. Wouldn't suggest area for families with small children.

If you are looking for a nice fun beach to go to- stay away from this one. I was there yesterday, 9.11.2014. There are homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks at noon and smell of urine. The pier to walk out on, bums and hippies asking for money. People were high on something. Just not a nice place to relax,... More

This is the hippie beach of San Diego. Less touristic than Pacific Beach but a must see for the ambiance.

Ocean Beach is a really chilled out location, where people are tan, smiling, friendly and sporty! A hippie vibe runs through the whole place, which makes it even more fun to be in :) You don't have to do anything to be in a good mood, just be there is enough. And the sunsets are amazing: go a bit further... More

Ocean Beach ("OB") tends to be a love it or hate it kinda place for most people. The hangout for hippies in the 70's has kept some of that same "don't care" laid back we-accept-all vibe, mixed in with beach-loving surfers. The main streets are lined with antique shops, restaurants and bars. Popular ones include OB Noodle Bar, Pizza Port,... More
