All Beaches are unique in San Diego. The cliffs are not a walkable sand type beach. A few tide pools but I would skip it if you are hear for a short period.

Sunset Cliffs are nice to just sit and watch the ocean. The views from there are amazing. Obviously, watching the sunset from there is a must! I often go there just to relax for a bit, and even when it's crowded, it's still relaxing and beautiful.

I lived here for 25 years, the cliffs are breathtaking and a bit treacherous to climb, made of sandstone which disintegrates easily. There are only a few stairwells which are frequented by surfers and those adventurous enough to sunbath on a rocky ledge or small slice of beach below. At low tide, you can walk among the tide pools below... More

Really a cool place to go, whether fishing, swimming, or just exploring the tide pools and sealife. Just keep in mind, this area can be tricky to walk thru, not the smoothest nor safest terrain.

After reading the wonderful reviews of this park, we decided to add it to our list of things to do in San Diego. We were very disappointed... it looks a lot like La Jolla Cove, but is much smaller and doesn't have as much to see. After about 5 minutes we were ready to leave. Would not recommend.

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park was the first attraction I visited in San Diego. I would suggest having dinner at Jimmy's Famous American Tavern (J-FAT) in Point Loma before going to the cliffs. Using GPS we were able to find the main road that runs parallel to the park. There is plenty of free parking along this road. We started at... More

Being in the hustle and bustle of the city of San Diego seems miles away while watching the sun go down at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. We brought picnic fare from Whole Foods and found a comfortable spot along the cliff's edge to experience the beauty of this location. Parking can be a bit tricky, but go early and you... More

As the setting of my daily run, I couldn't as for a more surreal and beautiful backdrop. I switch it up between early morning, mid afternoon, and sunset strolls because each one has its own flavor and ways to truly awe you. There are always plenty of surfers to watch, fellow dog lovers, or just the perfect sunset reflecting off... More

This is an easy hike with some nice views of the cliffs. Enjoyed watching the pelicans and sea gulls.

This was one of the first ocean views we saw on vacation and it was stunning! Definitely a must see!
