Sunset Cliffs is a gorgeous spot to view the Pacific and watch the surfers. Watch out though, because the cliffs can be dangerous if you get too close to the edge.

Most beautiful place in San Diego to watch the waves crash on the rocks and have a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Stay away from the edges, they are sandstone and could give way. There are designated parking areas and guard rails by the street. This is a must see in San Diego.

Went to this location twice while in San Diego. Great spot to watch the sunset into the ocean horizon.

For those who love to take sunset photos, this is a must visit. Be careful when you get close to the cliff edges. There is parking space near the most popular photo spot. You need to walk a few steps towards the cliff and climb a bit. Suggest to wear mountain shoes.

The cliffs were amazing but be careful they look dangerous. If you have kids be sure to hang on to them. Nice relaxing views.

Great time scrambling around these lovely cliffs with amazing sea views. We watched the surfers catching waves, and enjoyed the unusual driftwood formations. It was all wonderful except the moment when my son-in-law accidentally slipped on a steep spot and careened into my daughter, stepping on her pinky finger and cracking the bone! He won't live this one down for... More

We got there an hour early to get our cameras set up afraid that it would be so busy. There were about 8 other people there and there is a large shoreline so there was room for everyone to get their pictures. It's worth going to visit if you like to watch beautiful sunsets!

Our kids loved it here. Great place to hike along the Cliffs. Lots of paths, crevaces etc to explore and get exercise. Great views of the ocean. We went during the day, but it supposedly has great sunset views as well. Sadly the area is littered with garbage from partiers who can't clean up after themselves :(
