Park further down from the beach and get rewarded with a much smaller crowd and cove area! It was breathtaking. The waves come closer at sunset and splash up high against the rocks. You won't regret going here.

This is a beautiful spot on cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. There are a couple of benches, and lots of places to just plop down a towel and breathe. Sunset is pretty spectacular! The trash cans are right off the sidewslk, so, some people have taken to putting out their cigarettes right there on the cliff, and I saw some... More

Sunset Cliffs...hmm how does one begin to explain it? It is absolutely beautiful, but one must beware of the sketchy people that are hanging around under the pier. :) Also-more of us need to bring a bad to pick up the cigarette buts and beer bottles that less-respectful people seem to be leaving along the route. I personally love this... More

The view while driving along Sunset Cliffs is awesome, no matter what the time of day or season. There are few spots in San Diego where the road comes as close to the ocean as it does here. The cliffs are magnificent, even though they are gradually eroding away, with time. The surfing community is out in the water on... More

Its a neat Park, but the Beach is down a steep hill area that was even challenging for my 15 yr old to get down. The climb is not for the faint of heart...so I skipped it. The views are spectacular. Its kind of a beach for locals, hippies and surfers. It looke really fun. To the north around the... More

I lived in Pt. Loma for 8 years and walked frequently at Sunset Cliffs. Though I now live 40 miles away, I still like to walk there when I'm in the area. Of course, it's spectacular at sunset, but also a great place for early morning walks. I especially like to walk there when it's stormy, as the waves crash... More

Just find a place to park and then enjoy this natural wonder of a place on California's coastline. Obviously, if you can, go at sunset to see the sun disappear into the ocean. But even if you go at high noon, it's a worthwhile trip. Combine it with the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the Cabrillo State Park since they... More

This is a beautiful place to visit for the ocean views, rock formations, walking trails and cliff diving.
