We had a perfect San Diego day, 80 degrees, sunny, calm, and whales are migrating back north. The ship is immaculate, the snacks and drinks included were good, the crew friendly, Al knows everything about everything and is great tending to the youngsters. Know there are no chairs- you sit where you can, but it worked surprisingly well. We saw... More

We did the whale watching tour aboard the America on a windy, cool, misty day in January. The mist ended after leaving the harbor but the seas were actually considered high by San Diego standards and although it was very chilly, it was AWESOME for sailing. All the sails were raised (with the help of any passengers that wanted to)... More

What a wonderful way to start the New Year! I would absolutely recommend any family or group of friends to experience this Whale Watching extravaganza! As a San Diego Native I have grown tired of the endless tourism that plagued our coastline, but having spent little time off shore I had no Idea what a treat it'd be to enjoy... More

I took my family aboard America for a sailing/whale watching tour for the holidays. I thought that bringing them aboard the America's cup yacht, would be a great new experience. I have been running sailing, snorkeling, and scuba diving tours for the last 10 years, and have been in customer service for 17 years. I have to sadly say that... More

A wonderful way to whale watch. Good people and an experience on a tall ship. Second to none. A must see when in San Diego. Do one thing this is it. Lots of whales to see.... they guarantee it.

I've been meaning to review whale watching on The Yacht America since our trip last April (sorry, busy mom of 5). This was our favorite outing in San Diego. The crew was amazing, especially the pirate like, off duty school teacher (sorry, I can't remember his name) who had our 4 and 12 year old (as well as a handful... More

What an awesome way to spend the day whale watching AND sailing on a beautiful historical ship. It is a replica of the original America, one of the most famous ships in American sailing history. There are many species of whales and dolphins off of Southern California's coast so apparently you have the opportunity to see them year round. The... More

We went out to watch whales and were not disappointed when we got a rare glimpse of a blue whale! Many thanks to the terrific crew who gave us the trip of a lifetime! The America is a spectacular historic ship that sliced through waves and brought us to the sites of whales and dolphins. When the boat was without... More

I am a little late getting this review in but wanted to say a BIG BIG thanks to all the crew for such a fantastic day. So so professional, courteous, fun, informative, the crew were a delight to be with. We don't have any kids but they were so good with the children on board that everyone old & young... More

I am from San Diego and have been on many whale watching trips before, but this was by far the most unique yet relaxed atmosphere I have encountered yet. First of all, the boat is a replica of the America, a sailboat form the Americas Cup, and it is very different than the average motorboat experience. The tour guide was... More
