The America's Cup trophy is named after the yacht 'America'. We conduct regular public trips on the race yachts around San Diego bay where the guests get to participate if they wish as part of the crew. On a busy day we will have both yachts out racing against each other. San Diego is the only place in the USA where you can race on these style yachts. The larger America does amazing 4 hour whale watching and sunset sails to the ocean for both the Gray whale migration in the winter and the Blue Whale viewings in the summer. « less

We truly enjoyed our whale watching experience with Next Level Sailing, even though the rain was a bit unexpected on So. CAL. The schooner itself was beautiful and the crew could not have been more pleasant, nor eager to make sure we found a whale to follow...and indeed we did. Having the whale come up right off the bow was... More

My wife and I took our 17 year old son and 13 year old daughter on a Blue Whale sighting trip yesterday with Next Level Sailing run by the Maritime Museum in San Diego. Everything about the trip was fantastic! Firstly, one kid (not under 12, but under 21!!!) did not have to pay if traveling with each adult. So... More

We had the most amazing experience with the Crew of the America from Next level Sailing. We went out on their 2:30 to 6:30 cruise. The boat was magnificent and their first mate Al did an amazing job of explaining history and pointing out interesting sights and working with the kids. The crew was very nice and when we got... My family went on the America Cup's Stars & Stripes. We got to sail half this great racing boat half of the trip. We enjoyed it so much we signed up to go on the whale watching trip aboard the America, a beautiful sailing ship. The sailing alone was well worth the money and then we spotted a blue whale... More

We really enjoyed sailing on these great sailboats. It was just two of us and we joined several other people onboard. You don't have to have a full crew to reserve a spot. Both of the boats went out together and we did a bit of racing and some close passes that were thrilling. Everything was hands on. You can... More

This was a fantastic day. In addition to the perfect weather, the crew was great. I loved that they were ok with bringing your own food/drinks (don't bring glass). The gf and I brought along a little picnic, though the ship had plenty of water and sodas, along with some snacks, and drinks available. SPOILER: they surprise you with some... More

The 2 and 1/2-hour sail took us down the bay into the Pacific just off Point Loma, Breezes were light but easily moved the boat. Skipper Troy and his two-man crew were very customer focused. They invited us to get involved, regardless if you were a never-ever or experienced sailor. You could pitch in sail trimming, winch grinding, steering, all... More

Looked at three highly rated San Diego sail whale watching tours and picked this one because of the America. We are so glad that we did. This is a magnificent replica of the original ship that first won the America’s Cup. Built in 1995 the America is a 139 foot schooner and the same beautiful quality and craftsmanship above the... Spent the day with my family on the America doing the 1/2 day whale watching trip. From booking to the end of trip, everything was flawless and professional. We brought lunch aboard and the crew provided complimentary waters/soft drinks and light snacks (chips, cookies & crackers). Definitely dress in layers (we even had hats & gloves). It was 72 degrees... More
