Want a fast & fun whale watching experience, without the crowds, and with a much less likely chance of getting motion sickness? Here at Adventure RIB Rides, we seat 6 people per boat so you are never fighting for that seat leaning over the rail like many larger boats.

We are the only YEAR ROUND whale watching company!

Our ocean excursion on the Authentic NAVY SEAL R.I.B. (Rigid Inflatable Boat) provides an adventure to remember as we race through the ocean finding all types of marine wildlife there is to be seen with captains whom are extremely experienced and passionate about marine life and the history of Sunny San Diego.

Our boats are all authentic Navy Seal Team R.I.B.s purchased from Navy Seal Team 1 here in San Diego.

Explore the marine life on some of San Diego's historic boats with us!

This was our first trip to San Diego and we wanted to make the last day of our trip memorable so we chose R.I.B. Adventure Rides. It was a beautiful sunny day at 79 degrees. Captain John was knowledgeable and fun as he toured us into the bay showing us sea lions sunning on the buoys (they like green ones).... More

I'm not a big fan of the giant whale watching boats, someone is either in your way so you get their head in your picture or some kid barfs on the boat and we all get to enjoy that smell. Rib Rides seemed like a perfect fit for us and didn't disappoint. It was my wife and kids and one... More

This is the best thing I have ever done in San Diego. I travel here for business 1 to 2 times per year and sometimes tack on a day or two for hanging out in the stellar weather and having fun. I will be doing this every time I come now. The smaller, more maneuverable, less crowded boats provide a... More

If I had been traveling alone, I would have given Adventure R.I.B. Rides the highest rating. But I wasn't. I had a traveling companion who was prone to motion sickness at sea, and the reason we chose this outfit over other whale-watching tours was the claim on its website: "We guarantee you will not get seasick." It's a misleading and... More

Our captain was both informative and funny! He was very respectful of the distance between the whales and our boat, but we didn't miss a thing! We actually saw 2 of them breach and a double tail fluke! Great trip! The weather could have been a little warmer, but it was still a wonderful way to end our trip! We... More

I captain a yacht on the great lakes, and was in San Diego for a boat captain's conference. Always looking for new ideas for our boat, and have been on many whale watches in the area, and all around the world, for the past 20 years. (Of course we seldom see whales on the great lakes, ha ha.) Of all... More

There are many dolphin/whale watching options in San Diego, but Adventure R.I.B Rides has got to be the best! The boat ride is awesome and you get a much more intimate experience as opposed to being on a head boat with 40-50 other people. We had 5 people in our group and they were all awesome! Our captain/guide was extremely... More

I've always wanted to go whale watching and we had a small window (New Years Day in the AM) to fit it in while we were in San Diego. The team at Adventure RIB Rides was flexible and creative and made the trip happen. Our Captain, Clint, was outstanding. He was very personable and an expert on spotting wildlife. Additionally,... We just returned from a trip to San Diego where we spent one afternoon with captain Mark, and a bunch of whales, dolphin and sea lions. We had a great afternoon, and the trip exceeded our expectations. For starters, we were supplied with warm, waterproof suits. Unsure of what to expect, we had brought all the warm clothes we had... We booked a tour on Dec. 26. The winds were a bit high and once we got out into the open water, the sea was very choppy. The coveralls that RIB provides were definitely needed to protect us from the cold sea spray and wind. Our captain, Clint, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately, after about the first 30 min.,... More
