It's actually an urban myth and NOT historically accurate that the bridge was curved and "lengthened" so it would qualify for federal funds. But it IS a beautiful bridge...

We went over the bridge on the old town trolley. We went under on the Flagship boat. it is a pretty unique design with an angle in the middle.

I love this bridge from a distance, and have used it several times. But be warned...the left lane merges with little warning as you are getting onto the bridge (as of mid January 2015). The road department needs to mark this hazard more clearly. I almost wrecked my rental car!

Well, I used to live in Coronado, and there was a time when you had to pay a toll to cross the bridge, but that went away sometime around the year 2000. If you fly into San Diego at night, you are treated to a wonderful view of this landmark. What most people don't know is that the bridge is... More

The sight of the curving, blue bridge over the Big Bay is awesome. Driving on it or viewing it is amazing.

The bridge is long and very high, affording views of all San Diego. It is also a piece of art with painted buildings and columns leading up to it.

My favorite San Diego view is via the Coronado bridge and it is also my favorite route in San Diego leading me to a restful walk on the beach, what a great way to spend my spare time.

What a fabulous vantage point to view the city and bay! And it's a bit like an amusement park ride if traveling via the Old Towne Trolley. You definitely want to get this view!
