Many cities have bridges that come to be a symbol for their cities and for San Diego it's the Coronado Bridge. The height of this bridge (200 feet, just slightly less than that of the Golden Gate Bridge) is belied by its design whose graceful curves allow a more gradual ascent. The height of the bridge allows passage of the... More

Besides the ferry boats, crossing the bridge is the only way to Coronado Island . . . well, I guess you could swim :-) An interesting structure with a fascinating background explained by the Old Town Trolly drivers while crossing it.

Fabulous view of the island and San Diego. A must see and drive over for out of towners. At night the lights are fabulous. In the daytime you can see for miles.

It was a really nice Sunday drive over the bridge. We enjoyed our visit to Coronado Island where we had a wonderful breakfast on a patio. We stopped in a park which had exhibit displays for local artists. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed.

Crossing the bridge gives you an awesome view of the waterway an the island. It's even nicer now that you no longer have to pay a toll to cross it. The best views are at night when everything is lit up.

I find it strange that a bridge is considered an attraction, but I found it to be so. It was a unique bridge, not straight like most. As you drove over it, you felt like you were going to infinity as it arched up so steeply and you could only see the sky. I was glad to not be the... More

The drive over the bridge is a great experience, the view is awesome. The park area you notice as you approach Coronado under the West end of the bridge is a must see and walk, bike, etc. The park itself is a beautiful walk right along the bay with again awesome views. The path leads to the Ferry Landing Market... More

We stayed on Coronado Island in San Diego so we traveled over this bridge many times. The best part is they have removed the toll so it is FREE to cross. It is a very nice looking bridge but not really an attraction...just a bridge but it makes it very easy to get to Coronado Island.

This bridge was really fun to drive across. We found out on one of the harbor cruises that the reason it goes so high and curves was because in order to get Federal funding, the bridge had to be a certain length.
