My wife and I have been to San Diego too many times to count. We always include as many live performances as possible at the Old Globe. There are 3 theaters. One of which is an amphitheater. The performances are first class. I mean it. The last time we visited we saw Othello. Blair Underwood and Richard Thomas were performing.... More

Season ticket holders for winter and summer for many years, we love going to the Old Globe. Wonderful theater with shows often going to Broadway. Especially like Shakespeare in summer - outside. Variety of productions is excellent and even if it is not a favorite, the acting and staging keep you in your seat. Very easy to deal with -... More

I attended the musical "Brightstar" here this weekend. It was my first time in the theater, and I loved the show. The theater was designed with a wooden balcony that evokes the mood of the Old Globe in London. Nice touch. It is located in Balboa Park. We attended a matinee and got a bite to eat at the cafe... We went to see Bright Star at the Old Globe in San Diego and it was great. Seats are a little cramped but there isn't a bad seat in the house and the show was amazing!

We enjoyed going to the Old Globe Theater to see the very good play Bright Star. The acting and singing in the show was outstanding. The Globe itself is a historic theater and beautifully built. Having just been in Ashland, Oregon, it reminded me of that type of quality theater site. Its a place that one wants to go just... More

The title of my review is an homage to the Guthrie, the very birthplace of regional theater. San Diego is the proud location of the Old Globe - the best theater in a town with an embarrasing wealth of wonderful theatrical venues. If you are visiting "America's Finest City" put The Old Globe on your must-do list; If you live... More

The Old Globe is a wonderful theater located in the historic Balboa Park. It is host to some of the best plays and musicals in the country. I have been attending this theater for over 10 years and have rarely been disappointed with a production. Great plays and venue. Definitely a must-see!

From the main stage, to the White, to the Festival outdoor - you will love the productions at all three of the Globe's theatres. I love the White the best - 250 seats in the round and it's an amazing time - even the last row seems just feet from the stage. Make sure you get to the Globe and... More

It's a magical place that is also a historic gem of the Balboa Park. We were so fortunate to enjoy the musical 'Allegiance' in 2012 which fulfilled one of my long time goals. Timing was perfect. The history is awesome for a lover of arts.

Small, intimate, not a bad seat in the house. We saw Othello and it was a very good production. Richard Thomas was on top of his game in this performance. Snacks and drinks are available just outside the theatre. Be sure to bring a sweater or sweatshirt
