We saw the Grinch here (in its 18th year). The theater was nice, acoustics good, concessions reasonable and volunteers earnest. But there is no parking. Our GPS couldn't find the place. I finally went to the website and found parking directions, but they listed four lots and didn't give a map or tell me which was closest (at least not... More

Went to see the "Grinch" and not only is the place very special but the stage craft is phenomenal and a world class performance.

While visiting San Diego on business I just happened to look online to see if there were any plays, and found not one but two plays being performed at the Old Globe and a smaller theater next door. After a fantastic dinner at The Prado, walked over to the theater and saw a graduate student performance of a Shakespeare play....... More

we saw Last Gallop. Went with the seat recommendation of the ticketing office attendant. Easy access, great seating in the round so there are no bad seats. Would certainly go to another production in this venue.

Probably one of the most unusual play presentations I have ever seen...not a word was spoken during the entire production, and the concept of love and its many possibilities was quite clear from the dancing, singing and acting...

I've seen a couple events here and it has always been enjoyable. What makes this place a gem is its placement within Balboa Park. While it requires a little walking from the parking area, the views and the architectural details on the buildings make it an overall pleasure.

There's still time if you hurry to see the extraordinary production of "Full Gallop" at the Old Globe Theater complex in Balboa Park. How often does one get to see a multi- award winning actress (Mercedes Ruehl) in an intimate setting at a reasonable price? She plays the great Vogue editor Diana Vreeland in a very well written one-woman show.... More

I saw "In Your Arms" at the Old Globe on 9/26/15. It tells several love stories almost entirely with dance. All different styles: ballet, ballroom, African, 50's jive, flamenco, etc. Really a great show!
