I moved to Los Angeles almost 20 years ago and it took most of that time to get to the Old Globe - too long. We saw a very good production of "Twelfth Night" there, with actors who delivered clearly and acted with all appropriate emotions in a play that is usually done as a comedy but can go either... I have seen three shows here and all have been great fun! The whole thing is extremely entertaining and the pricing is always great! I feel like the "snack bar" is very limited compared to other venues I have seen shows at, but it has the basics... water, coffee, hot coco. Two out of the three times I have visited... More

The Old Globe is part of balboa park. More modern in someways, they always have a good line up of plays to see if you're into that. Local performances are always fun to catch and they have fun gift shops for keep sakes and food. Of course food. ;)

My husband and I are both Anglophiles, so visiting the Old Globe from the outside was a thrill in itself. But when we actually attended a performance, we were very pleased. We had fairly inexpensive seats for the performance (of "Arms and the Man," by GB Shaw), but they were GREAT seats, and the performance was excellent. Anyone who enjoys... More

The Old Globe is a great venue to see a play. Not a bad seat in the house. I prefer to sit in the front row of the balcony, no one in front of you... Great view of the stage. You don't have to worry about a basketball player in the seat in front of you. The setting in Balboa... More

Went to the theatre for the first time in San Diego. Beautiful!! Great experience! Play was The White Snake. Great play! Busy place in the evening. No food or drinks are allowed in the theatre. Same with video or cameras. Small theatre. We had great seats. We really did not see any seats that were bad seats. The cheapest seats... More

The Old Globe Theater has a wonderful reputation for new shows that capture the imagination and have the opportunity to head to Broadway. Their shows win Tonys on Broadway. The theater itself is more intimate than you might imagine and acoustics are really great The Old Globe has become an integral part of the San Diego experience and should a... More

This was a spur of the moment decision to see a play here and thanks to American Express, I got great seats at the last minute. The production was first class but this is about the Theatre itself. Wonderfully preserved as a landmark, good HVAC on a very hot and humid night, great food and beverage venues including alcohol, fantastic... More

In the midst of its surrounding chaos, Balboa park always soothes and astounds. The addition of Panama 66 is a welcome one.

Saw, Bright Star the Musical there recently. Seats were designed well for the stage. Almost impossible to get a bad seat.
