This is the worst play I have ever seen, high schools have done better. It was annoying from the start, a lot of screaming disjointed timelines and poor staging. We left at halftime! Balboa Park is fabulous do stay to experience what it has to offer.

Saw Othello as part of the Shakespeare series, absolutely brilliant production. Helpful staff, drinks available for purchase, the walk through Balboa is incredible, and the outdoor theater is absolutely perfect in California. Hope to attend another show soon.

We went to see Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Old Globe. I don't recall the name, but this was the open air venue. We loved the play, the facility was very nice. Only complaint was there were 3 plays starting at 8pm that Saturday evening, so the will call window had a ludicrously long line. Still, they worked hard... More

We attend shows at the Old Globe a couple times a year and it just keeps getting better. The sets and acting are superb and there isn't a bad seat at any of the three theaters. We especially love the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival theater and attend at least one of the three plays during the Shakespeare festival every year.... More

The Old Globe Theatre is actually a compound made up of three stages, the larger Old globe Theater, the more intimate White Theater, and the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival theater, which is primarily home to the summer Shakespeare festival. One can see both classical and contemporary works on the stages, often with both local cast members as well as well... More

The Globe Theatre in Balboa Park is an experience in itself. Whatever play is scheduled during your visit is worth the trip. While I was there, I went to see Into the Woods. The cast was terrific. The play was not only well-acted, but it was also well-directed, expertly choreograph, terrifically sung, and interestingly orchestrated. The cast was one of... More

This was the nicest venue -- in the nicest park -- if you enjoy Shakespeare. I enjoyed their production of Othello.

This is a fabulous ensemble cast with a completely different staging than the original. The Old Globe doesn't have a bad seat in the house. We had a wonderful evenings entertainment.
