Mission Beach isn't a place I hang out, but I like to walk the boardwalk in the summer. The cast of characters is always interesting, and there are a lot of places to eat.

This WAS a fun place, now it's a made in China swap meet of crap on Ventura place! Still fun to ride down the boardwalk and look at the freaks, but the bums wrecked the drinking and the greedy merchants wrecked the street!

I enjoy going to the Mission Beach, because there is so much to do at this beach. They updated the amusement park and restaurants are updated their businesses. So you have the beach fun in the sun, some good places to eat and can bring the kids out to enjoy the amusement park and the beach and park.

My kids had a blast even though it was an extremely busy day. It's cool that you could see all the way up to La Jolla.

We rented bikes from our Hotel and rode our bikes down the beach. It was very relaxing and fun for our group.

Had a great day at Mission Beach. Easy to get to on public transport, a few different eating options, a cool bar on the boardwalk with a wave pool for the surfers. Could have spent more time there.

We were in the San Diego area over Thanksgiving for a soccer tournament and had some free time on Thanksgiving day so we went to Mission Beach. What a fantastic location! The sand is perfect, the water is amazing and the Southern California atmosphere is spot on. I had my two teenagers with me and they had an amazing time.... More

A little sun bathing, a little surfing, a little waves on the jetty...this beach has it all. The south end seems a little less crowded. The north end has great people-watching on the boardwalk.

I am normally not a beach person but we went down and to see such a beautiful beach in the middle of the wonderful city is truly awsome

Lucky for us we stayed at a resort not 30 seconds from the small amusement park at the beach. The beach was kept very clean and had signs for swimming areas and surfing areas to avoid accidents. The amusement park had a couple of rides and some food stands, there was even a place to rent surfboards and other water... More
