This beach has a rollercoaster & carnival games. The bathrooms by the main lifeguard station were clean & in good repair. When we went the ocean was full of seaweed, not sure if this is normal or not for this beach. Parking was good.

We just spent a week in San Diego and visited quite a few beaches. This ended up being our favorite and our starting and ending point nearly every day. It always had lots of room to setup. It also always had good waves for starter surfing but no crazy rip-tides to worry about. The other thing we liked was the... More

Nice beach with plenty of room for visitors. No where to buy drinks and food though. Alabama has beautiful Snow White beaches, but of course I'm partial to home!

We stayed right on the beach in a rental for a week with family. Lots of restaurants and activities. Properties are very close. Beach and boardwalk are great. The boardwalk goes for miles right on the beach. Sand is very clean. But be warned.. No alcohol is allowed on beach or boardwalk

If you must go to this beach, shoot for first thing in the morning. Parking is simply a nightmare. Once you get to the beach it is overcrowded. We opted to try the beaches on Coronado Island and we were not disappointed.

I have nothing good to say about this beach other than go a little farther north. It is basically a dirty beach with visitors that relate to that. Consider another beach.

I have a new found appreciation for beaches outside of California after visiting Mission Beach. Do you like seaweed, kelp, bugs, and high bacterial count on your beach? Nevermind, the water is a perfect 60 degrees. You had better bring your wet suit and a surfboard. Me? I'll pass on Mission Beach. I'll pass on nearby Pacific Beach too.

We visited Mission Beach in late August 2014. The beach had nice facilities. The beach was clean and the waves were big. There was a wash off shower and bathroom available. There were restaurants and liquor stores within 5 minutes walking distance from the beach. There was free parking in the Bonita Cove park, which was about 5 minutes walk... More

Mission Beach is a postal zone part of San Diego. It is about 3 miles long about 1/4 mile or less wide. The beaches are white sand and the surf break is gentle. The bayside has the beaches of quiet Mission bay, and the ocean side has a 3 mile long ocean beach. In the center of the peninsula is an... More
