Lucky for us we stayed at a resort not 30 seconds from the small amusement park at the beach. The beach was kept very clean and had signs for swimming areas and surfing areas to avoid accidents. The amusement park had a couple of rides and some food stands, there was even a place to rent surfboards and other water... More

Went there by myself and was there all day. Was able to layout, do a little shopping and grab a bit to eat with walking to far. The waves were beautiful and it was neat to watch the surfer's all day.

this is one of the best places I've ever been. Just sitting in the beach watching the surfer, jogger, biker, looking around and relax. Good food and nice people will cross your way...

Went to Mission Beach around 10am on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy at all. The water was pretty rough given the hurricane in Mexico the day before, which made it even more fun to play in the waves. Public washrooms/changerooms are very old and dirty, but are functional, as are the showers outside to wash off the salt water.... More

Lovely beach. Hired bikes from Cheap Rentals and had gorgeous ride along boardwalk. Very pleasant place to pass the day.

Mission Beach is an interesting collection of picnic and game areas situated on shore and on islands within the park-like setting. Seems to be a place for everyone and anyone with the conveniences you seek in entertaining your family at a scenic picnic or cook-out. Everyone is friendly and helpful and wants you to have a great time just like... More

Super nice and clean beach. It's definitely worth a trip down there! We had a blast. We didn't try the roller coaster but looked fun!

When we go to San Diego we usually stop by Mission Beach. The location is easy to get to. There is a lot of space for activities on the beach. I have never felt cramped there.
