We went here at night thinking we would be terrified. Not really. There were a few cold spots, and in one of the kids rooms, I actuall saw a curtain moved. No window was open, no fans or air-con was on and there was no1 in the room. It waved and then it stopped moving and was dead still, no... more

This place is a tourist trap. My apartment is more supernatural than this place. However, it's only $6 to get in which isn't a huge amount to waste, so if ghost-hunting is your thing, then go by all means. The staff was exceptionally friendly. They had some interesting stories to tell of the some of the more-crazy nondead visitors of... more

I was walking around in the court room without my husband or anyone else around me for that matter. I sat on the first bench in the room and felt my necklace come undone and it fell into my shirt. At first I thought it may have broken. But upon looking at the lobster clasp on my star necklace, everything... more

If I were the ghost of a person that either lived or died on the grounds of the Whaley House, I would imagine I would have access to the land nearby the house and I can assure you that I would much much rather spend my time anywhere but inside the walls of a house crowded with loud, gum-chewing yokels.... more

When my father and I arrived at the Whaley House, we were greeted by a small staff of employees in period dress, only one of whom showed any interest in the job. We were given information on the house and the ghosts to read, and told it was a self-guided tour. We were alone in the house, and so I... more

I used to live in San Diego and have been brought to the Whaley House my whole life. The House looked very beautiful in the old days of operation. Since the year 2000, there have been many changes to the inside and outside, none to my liking. The front hallway where you walk in is hideous, the fake marble effect... more

The house, upon going in, was a very quaint little thing. I was there touring the house getting research for my speech class. I had a couple of friends with me, who had heard about the house and wanted to go. Nothing unusual happened in the house, you just feel strange while you are going thru each room. I took... more

Yes, I'd seen the Travel Channel's over-the-top spooks review of the place before I came, and I'd heard all the hype about "America's Most Haunted"--but that's not why I came. I may be in the minority in that respect, as many tourists come to the Whaley House as bonafide ghost hunters and claim to have had paranormal experiences there. Is... more

I come from San Diego. And i have been to the Whaley House several times. I love it, it is a beutiful home, and truley gives you a mood and sense that you are living in the mid 1800's. I just read a review someone wrote about it being misleading. The person is right about how the rooms are blocked... more
