Love everything about it- culture, art, museums, botanics, good dining. This park has it all and I could spend every day there.

If you travel with toddlers and you want a place for them to be entertained, there are nice playgrounds and a small train for them to take. the are of improvement is that there is not a big parking facility, so be patient looking for a place to park.

Didn't spend much time here other than to walk around and see what all it had to offer. Would definitely recommend visiting the nuseums if you have a longer stay in San Diego and are interestred in museums.

We love walking around the park and exploring the trails, even if we don't go into any of the museums.

We stayed at The Bristol near Horton Plaza. One day I walked Rudy The Dog through downtown and Balboa Park to their lovely off-leash Dog Park. There was Green Grass, Trees, and even a Doggy Water Fountain. It was great for Rudy - kind of a Doggy Woodstock. Rudy had a blast so we went again a few days later.... More

Don't miss the spectacular cactus garden across Park Blvd from the park near the rose garden and Naval Hospital. The Spanish architecture along the walkway between the large,... More

We loved the San Diego Zoo and adjacent Balboa Park. Lots to do in beautiful surroundings. In addition to the zoo there are numerous museums and galleries.
