Nice place to visit with family but many buildings charge an entrance fee. We liked the rose garden and cacti though.

As a San Diego native, I take pride in Balboa Park. There are museums, art galleries, great architecture, and lots of walking. Don't miss the antique merry-go-round, children's train, or the organ pavilion. The zoo is also located in the park, but that is another day in itself. Ask the locals for a few tips while visiting this landmark.

So much to see and do, but all worth it. Art, parks, music, museums. The Hop on, Hop off tours make a stop here, so save a lot on transportation and plan on spending a few hours here.

So many cool things to walk around and see. Lots of little museums to enjoy. Would have loved to see the organ concert, but didn't have time.

I was recently in San Diego for a conference and found myself with a few spare hours. We headed over to Balboa Park and it did NOT disappoint! The architecture was amazing. A few of the smaller museums seemed a bit pricey (the Museum of Photographic Arts, for example), but the fact that there were so many other things to... More
