excellent gift shop and children's activity center

Loved the children's activity center in the basement. I enjoyed it as much as the kids and joined in on the projects.

Free admission! This museum not only has exhibits that are interesting for kids and grownups alike, it also trusts you not to touch the art. It's rare to find a museum that doesn't either lock everything up so you can't get near it or watch you as if you were a saboteur! I love that they try to engage the... More

a nice small gallery of interesting pieces, with a knowledgeable woman at the front desk. It was fun to find a place to see some art.

The Mulvane Art Museum is another Topeka gem. Constantly rotating art exhibits. Typically two different ones on the 2nd floor. Sometimes they are paired purposefully and other times they are very different from each other. Elevator to get to second floor. Strategically visit during non-peak parking hours for students. (I wish they had a few reserved spots for museum visitors!).... More

My husband and I were in Kansas for his job and he read that they had a Rembrandt there and we drove 90 miles to see it. Upon arrival we were told that they had it but it wasn't on display. Very disappointed but enjoyed other aspects of the museum. We bought a piece of art in the gift shop... More

Great small art museum with interesting exhibits. The exhibits change often. Be sure to check out the children's activities. I have taken students many times. Check their website.

The Mulvane Art Museum on the campus of Washburn University is a true treasure. Five galleries feature ever-changing exhibitions from the museum's collection, as well as visiting exhibits. Staff are warm and friendly and very knowledgable. The gift shop is excellent with a wide variety of art related items. The ArtLab is an experience for all ages. Museum admission is... More

So many paintings and exhibits to view and enjoy. On our visit in November the faculty had an exhibit on the upper floor

We love the Mulvane Art Museum's ART LAB - there is so much to do and the volunteers are wonderful about teaching the various art methods & techniques. Best part of it - it's FREE!!

I am an art lover and an amateur photographer, but this is really a BIG disappointment as an art museum. The collection is extremely limited here. We practically finished this place in 15 minutes. The good thing is the museum is free, and the staff were very friendly. No photography was allowed inside (unless you are an art student on... More
