Great for a kid outing. The zoo isn't very big, but there is lots to see. After the zoo we rode the train around the park and had a picnic. We found a merry go round and beautiful botanical gardens. There's even a swimming pool! Great day with the kids!

Fun! Took my grandsons 2 and 5 to the Zoo and to ride on the train. We all had a great time. The park is clean, with plenty of parking. I just wish I had had time to bring a picnic basket. There were grills, playground, animal sculptures for the children to climb, as well as a small train and... More

very kid friendly. Has a public swimming pool, kids train ride thru park, merry-go-round, lots of shaded open area for families, flower garden, concert area (nothing while I was there) that is wonderful as told by family in area.

The park is really pretty and well-maintained. Our kids are a little older so not a lot for them, but I can see where younger kids would enjoy the play structures, etc. The rose garden was very pretty and picturesque ... we just enjoyed being outside and surrounded by lots of trees and manicured lawns and flowers.

We spent a little time in the rose garden. The flowers were beautiful and the garden was peaceful. We saw a blue heron fishing in a pond there.

Great for families. Picnic areas, zoo, rose gardens, train, merry go round, swimming pool and handicapped play equipment provide activities. Helen Hocker Theater and the band shell provide performances. Check with Shawnee County Parks and Recreation.

We stopped in here for just a little while so only got to see a small area of the park. The scenery was gorgeous; there were colorful flowers everywhere! We enjoyed walking around one of the ponds filled with koi fish. This park was very relaxing!

This was a nice, relaxing park with lots of flowers (the rose gardens were beautiful) and historical landmarks. The military section was very nice, with the Gage Park War Memorial stone. The surrounding monuments commemorate the locals that have served in the various wars through time. They have a small train for adults and children that gives a ride around... More

The park is very busy due to the school kids going to the zoo but I think that's the only reason it's busy. It is worn down with puddles and grass missing; the cement animals are dirty looking. It just needs thorough clean up.
