was clearly distressed. It stood in the same place and repeatedly stepped to the left and kicked and then stepped to the right and kicked. The enclosure it was in was rather small. So sad. :( It was a beautiful day but most of the animals weren't out. It's a small zoo so it doesn't take long to see the... More

I have been visiting the Topeka Zoo for 45 years. It makes me so sad to see the elephants and the ridiculously tiny area that they have been forced to live in for as many years. I don't visit the Topeka Zoo anymore and have no plans to do so until the reign of cruelty is over.

While it is showing its age a bit and how tax monies aren't what they used to be, this zoo is still amazing. Be sure to go to the indoor parts where you will see iguanas walking in front of you and bats hanging around. Be sure to go across the street to the great place for the kids to... More

We went to the zoo and it's pretty small, but lots of helpful animal info. They were kind enough to add animal info tags by each exhibit so we knew what we were looking at.

The Topeka Zoo is a wonderful place for kids. It's not huge, but the exhibits are good and they have been making a lot of improvements recently. Especially nice is the rainforest, where one can walk through trees and interact up close with birds and sometimes other animals.

Topeka Zoo is a nice medium size zoo in attractive surroundings (Gage Park). For the most part, pretty accessible even for us older individuals. A nice variety of animals and a petting zoo area for the children. In terms of food service, there is a fast food stand in season. The nicely redone Rainforest is fine, just not as wonderful... More

The Topeka zoo is smaller than many we have visited but has quality exhibits. My daughter especially likes the jungle exhibit with the free flying birds and bats and she likes the animals and man exhibit with the indoor viewing area for the hippos. The zoo even honored our membership from a different zoo and let us in free.

Anyone who wrote a good review either makes money off this place or they did not know that behind the scenes they are very cruel to their animals. Just Google the way the treat the elephants there. It's awful. If you want to visit a zoo where you know you are experiencing something decent and humane then don't go here.... More

I have seen many reviews on the zoo and I have been hesitant to actually write mine but I can't wait any longer my family has visited many zoos from Milwaukee to Omaha, Kansas City to Rolling Hills and this Zoo the Topeka zoo, has always been one of our favorites for many reasons. 1. Size, now this is commonly... More

This zoo is definately on the small side, but perfect for little explorers. Follow it up with Gage Park and you have a full day of fun, for cheap.
