The Kansas Governors mansion named 'Cedar Crest' is a beautifully maintained estate that is the official residence of the governor of Kansas since 1962. The inside tour is short but informative. The true gem of Cedar Crest is the 244 acres that the home is situated on that are open to the public. The land has several fishing ponds, numerous... More

The Mansion called Cedar Crest is not as large as I thought it would be, however it was nice to see. I toured with a group of senior citizens. We were able to see the living room, library, dinning room, breakfast room, sun room, and the two kitchens. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, as she was assistant to the... More

I have been there for both inside dinners and outside receptions. It is old but well kept. The Governor does not live there by his choice. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and there are always people fishing in the accessible ponds on property.

Beautiful woodwork - needlepoint chair cushions. Had the priviledge of playing the piano for special occasions. The grounds have walking trails.

Limited hours but still worth it considering the governor and his family currently live there. The scenery was beautiful and the tour was free! Our guide was very helpful and informative!

We had no clue that this was around. Unfortunately we weren't able to access the main entry way was closed off to the public for some get together that was happening. So we went around to the west side, and found many more trails from there. These are not for wheelchairs or anyone that cannot walk, as they are VERY... More

I've lived in Kansas for over 20 years and never knew where the governor's mansion was! Well, now we know. It is in a beautiful, quiet, well-to-do neighborhood in Topeka. We drove by just to see the house and were surprised to see there is a park there. (My kids commented on how awkward it would be if your dog... More

Compared to the entire city of Topeka, this is a nice area and location. You could go hiking on this trial, biking, walking, and golf course near by. Safe and all dogs on leash so no worries about a little guy picking on the big guy :D

There are so many great trail options out here for every level of hiker and biker. There's enough trail that you'll feel peacefully alone, even on crowded days. I especially like walking the red trail, which is on the North side of the park. Be sure to drive all the way down (keep going!) on the road on the West... More
