This is a building. I wish I could a bit more descriptive, descriptive and a bit more descriptive but it's just a building next to The Rescue Mission. A few trains go once in awhile, too.

The restored Union Pacific Station is a gem. Though not organized as a restored train station with rail-memorabilia such as the ticket windows, train boards, etc., the atmosphere of a great State Capitol station worthy to board government officials and visitors to the seat of Kansas government is outstanding. The railroad truly made an effort to show its best foot... More

The volunteers at this attraction are enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. You will be accompanied by people who worked for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe railroad company, who know their stuff. The building is beautiful, and the tiny gift shop has train=related items and toys. A nice visit - thanks, guys.

We were unable to go inside to see the actual museum. However, the monument outside, as well as the display of all the flags was pretty cool.

Completely redone old train station. Small compared to the big ones in big cities but some wonderful design and artisitic features to see. They have also restored and displayed several old train cars for you to see. The building itself is often used for many events including weddings and formal functions so you know it is well restored and maintained... More

If one is not familiar with Topeka, it is a bit of a challenge to find this station but it is a decent reward once you do.

Excellent location to visit and take children. Kids love to play in the train simulator and view the huge model train set-up in the former UP station. Very educational and interesting for adults also.
