This attraction is closed....rating is only due to the facilities not being available at all. There was storm damage that is being repaired.....so do not plan to visit this campground without checking on its status ahead of time.

Our first stay in Tupelo, we were very pleased with this park. A rating of very good may be a stretch but certainly above average. We went on a weekday, before the end of the school holidays and it was empty - no one there. Drove right up the little promontory, down to the pier decking and basked in the sun. Somebody who gets paid to manage this place should grab a trash bag and hit the trail (or hit the bricks and find a new gig)! Nice park but unforgivable site conditions with bottles and cans, butts and paper plates piled in and around the picnic table area of many sites. Nice lake. No swimming?? Nice lake, nice campgrounds, but if you ban swimming at a lake, why bother camping? I mean, whenever we camp we swim, and this is Mississippi where it's hotter than Hades, yet they banned swimming because, they said there were too many people getting drunk and drowning. Really?
