Description: A full-service, Ace-affiliated hardware store and small engine parts...
A full-service, Ace-affiliated hardware store and small engine parts retailer. We stock items that can't be found in other hardware stores with an emphasis on supplying as man American-made items as possible. We are also proud of our historical contribution to Rock'n'Roll as the store "where Gladys bought her son his first guitar."

We've all heard the stories. We've all seen the photos. Now visit the store. But don't expect too much. After all, it is a genuine hardware store. Elvis' mother bought his first guitar from this store when Elvis was 11, for about $7. Today you can buy a simple (non-Elvis trademarked) guitar from the store for $99. The best souvenir... More

We came here specifically to see and experience the Elvis connection, we were not disapointed, being told the history of how Elvis and his Mom arrived there to purchase something for his birthday. Even though the gentleman was busy, he took the time to explain the circumstances and the account of Gladys' purchase. It was my second visit from the... More

If you don't stop anywhere else, make sure to visit the Tupelo Hardware Store, where Elvis' mom bought the King his first guitar. It is like taking a step back in history, with the old wooden bins, a great selection of Buck knives and a lot of old time hospitality. Souvenir t-shirts are available as well as reasonably priced hand... More

Interesting but not as much as I had hoped based on the travel reviews. Looked around awhile but didn't fine anything that I thought unique.

Also the ACE hardware where Elvis bought his first guitar. It looked like a very interesting place. The window dressings and hardware would lure anyone to come on in the store,

We arrived just as they were closing early as it was a quiet rainy day in November. The lights were off in the store but as we peered in the window, the owner noticed us and asked if we were there to see the store. We said yes but didn't want to bother him, but he insisted on us coming... More

If you love old buildings and Elvis, you won't be disappointed with this store. To think this is where Gladys took Elvis when he was ten to buy him his first guitar is mind boggling. A wonderful building, with the old creaky hardwood floors and tin ceilings. My husband and I have a great appreciation of old buildings and thought... More

The staff are friendly and although they’ve probably done it a thousand times, they’re happy to tell you the story how Elvis got his first guitar when his mother took him to the store on his 10th birthday. They’ll also point out the “X” marked on the floor where Elvis stood. The store is large, and they also sell a... More
