Looked forward to our tour, but it did not last long. Before we got to Fenway Park our tram broke down. Waited on the side of the road for over thirty minutes for a replacement van, and when it arrived, our driver just headed right back to the start. No apologizes, no offer of anything. A waste of our fee for this tour. Will choose another one if we go back. The sites we did pass, the description was so-so. I have been on other tours in Europe, and even the short ones had a guide and a driver. Our driver was more concerned with poor jokes about the traffic and pedestrians. For a city with so much history, we did not learn a lot.

The driver was fine, but it was poorly organized. There were people who couldn't get on because there were no seats available. The traffic was so bad that in order to keep to their schedule we have to miss stops, even with that the trolley is still running late. Also, they should extend the last pick up time from 4:30 PM to 6 PM.

We waited for over an hour for a trolley to continue our tour after hopping off at the Naval Dock yard whilst watching numerous trolleys from other companies pass by . The trolleys are 'tired' and seem to lack suspension - mandatory on Boston's appalling roads - leading to many bruises! I wouldn't book again - I'd probably use the Old Town trolley company. It was expensive for what it was (but I think all of them are).

This was part of our Go Boston card. We've previously ridden the Old Town Trolley and recommend hands down the Old Trolley tour. First, the Beantown Trolley never showed up at 10:50 am. We called and were told they didn't know where the trolley was either. So we waited another 30 mins. Driver's jokes were crude and inappropriate for children. Kept hearing the driver mentioning talk about his tips, hence more crude jokes to get his gratuity. Drove scary fast, almost took a mirror off a car. We didn't even get back on the trolley, opted for the T. Take the Old Town Trolley, very professional drivers and safer!

I am writing to complain about unscrupuloius booking practices. We were waiting for the Old Town Trolley tour vehichle when The Bean Town Tour vehicle pulled up. The "nice man" said he would take us to the ticket booth to buy tickets for the tour we wanted, but when we got there and went up to the Old Town trolley booth, another nice gentleman told us to get back in the vehichle and he would save us thge time by bselling us the tickets right on the vehichle. because this all happened so fast, I did not realize that these were separate companies and we were, in fact, being scammed. As a matter of fact, I did not realize this until trolley after trolley from Old Town passed us at each stop while we were waiting for the Bean Trolley trolley but we were told that was not what we were ticketed for. How dare they! I am most upset and am going to take this to the corporate office and Trip Advisor to save others the same confusion and potential dissatisfaction. Miriam Silverman, Elkins Park, PA

Miriam , thank you for taking the time to review the Beantown Trolley, I feel that all reviews are helpful and provide insight to help us better serve all of our customers. I have talked to our team and stressed the point that our "Fun Historical Tour of Boston and Cambridge" on the Beantown Trolley is a great value and they are to make it a point to advise all customers that they are purchasing the Red Beantown Trolley. If I can be of any assistance please contact me at graylineboston_rwa@comcast.net

While waiting for our Gray Line Trolley, we watched 5-6 Old Town Trolleys go by at every stop, despite Gray Line's claim of "a trolley every twenty minutes". Not true!!!!! Plus, the microphone on the first leg of our tour was so cheap we could barely understand the driver's garbled speech. The next driver butchered the English language to the point that we got off for no other reason than to get a different driver. (I was not expecting Laurence Olivier, but at least a command of basic grammar and pronunciations would have been nice.)

I bought the ticket for $35 from a character at Kendall Square.

The tickets last two days but the first day was cut short as it was explained to me that they didn't have enough drivers. This was a bit of a disappointment but not the end of the world as I managed to get the ticket extended by another day.

The next time I used the service (on the third day) I had to wait more than an hour at Kendall Square before the red trolley arrived. The website indicates that this service runs every 30 minutes.

I complained to the Kendall Square character who said that I should take it up with the guy in the main booth in Boston (nr Feneuil Hall). I did as was advised and guess what? Was told to go back to the character at Kendall Square!

Best to steer clear of Beantown tours - the guys with the red buses or 'trolleys'.

We booked this as part of the Go Boston card- what a mistake!
We waited, and waited and waited for the trolley to arrive - around 45 minutes to be precise until the trolley finally arrived. In this time around 4 trolleys from the rival company passed us - we were starting to think we should have booked with them...
The Bean town trolley, we discovered, have only got two trolleys on the circuit so it makes it difficult to use it as 'hop on, hop off' as once you've hopped off you could have a very long wait for it to come back.
The tour itself was very average. The driver had lots of facts but was going through the motions and it was incredibly hard to understand what he was saying, we could probably hear clearly around 20% of the commentary as it was quite mumbled.
Overall, a waste of money and a disappointment.

After booking this tour and waiting 15 mins for the bus it didn't even stop. So waited another half hour for the next one.. It was not very interactive, quite dull actually and staff were polite but not sincere or helpful at all.
The tour included a free harbour cruise which was the only decent part.. But even then the trolley manager told us the cruise comes every half hour when infact it comes every hour. They are just there to collect money and should not be in the tourism industry. Maybe try a different trolley company. I hope you have a better experience in Boston than we did.
