Shear Madness; Shear Fun

A great interactive murder mystery play in which the audience are just as much a part of the action as the actors. Great fun

This show was different than any other I had seen before. The theater is in a tiny room at the bottom of the playhouse, so you are right on top of the action. Seating was crowded, but there is not a bad view anywhere since it is a small venue. The seats were not super comfortable, but the show is... More

This show was extremely entertaining and funny! They keep it fresh with the many current event jokes. The cast was superb! We took our teenage kids, 16 yr-old son and 14 yr old daughter and they laughed just as hard as we did! We would definitely go back!

This long-running show has plenty of energy and seems amazingly fresh. The cast seems to genuinely enjoy their work, and it is obvious their spontaneity is real. At least two or three times the evening we were there some had difficulty staying in character when one came up with something new. The venue intimacy works well.

Don't know why it took us so long to see Shear Madness. The entire experience was great fun, the actors were very good. Great entertainment at any price but the price was very reasonable.

My wife and I don't get out without the kids too much. However, this was a great night without them as this play is full of sexual innuendo funny jokes. We we laughing all night and I can be a bit of a grump.

Super funny performance! Definitely worth it. It is not kid friendly as jokes are for adults. Great actors. My husband and I both enjoyed it.

This is intended for adults. There were a few youngsters there that did not pick up on the fast jokes and lines. With a table of 4 you get to sit down in front. Most seats are in very close view of the stage. Great actors. Worth the visit. It was my second in many years.

These fantastic actors make this a hilarious outing! I was nervous about participating in any way but they don't force you to do anything and they even get to know you during the break to add fun facts about you into their improv. Recommend.

My husband and I first came here over 28 years ago. I remember how much fun we had then and we were certainly not disappointed this time either. Very talented cast, quick on their feet and very funny. Keep you totally engaged in what is happening (keep a look out for the hints to solve the murder). Only complaint was... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
