Along with Symphony Hall, the Opera House is a beautiful theater, both are worth visiting in Boston. It's older, so facilities might not be convenient. Bathrooms are in the basement, lots of steps (there is one elevator) and not a lot of public space. But the public space is beautiful, everywhere you look. Saw the 'Nutcracker'. Well done, my first... More

I saw the Nutcracker here, it was so wonderful! This theater is beautiful! The performance I attended was a full house. The lobby is small and was crazy crowded, making it difficult to get a drink from the bar, so we skipped that. Most staff were actually very rude. I understand they are busy, but don't work at an opera... More

Visited this time to see Swan Lake with friends, and had wonderful seats in the dress circle, balcony front row. Incredible production, but every visit to this venue is lovely. The building itself is spectacular inside with very well preserved, elaborate decor. Seats are very comfortable and the quality of every show I have attended is great. Looking forward to... More

Absolutely the most beautiful theater/opera house I have ever stepped foot in. The attention to detail with the walls, ceiling, and stage really brings you back in time before TV and movie theaters became so popular. I have been to many theaters and Broadway shops in New York. I have seen countless shows around the country but not one compares... More

we really enjoyed this production. Wonderful dancers, costumes and set. The Opera House is very nice also, comfortable seats and the house is small so you feel close to the production.

The Boston Ballet has a few excellent productions each year. The main reason I select which Ballet I attend depends upon the extravagance of the production. The Principal Dancers are the same for each Ballet Performance and they are all very young and immature in their Art. I don't like to go to Ballets which have the same Principal dancers,... More

Wonderful place to see Broadway tours. Theater is ornate and beautiful. As special as seeing a show in New York.

This was an amazingly beautiful building! I was just thankful to be inside it! My husband surprised me for my birthday with tickets to The Lion King. It was one of my favorite movies and soundtracks as a child, so I was deliriously impressed to say the least. There is just such grandeur in the details that it takes your... More

My husband and I enjoyed the "Lion King" this past weekend and the show was obviously held here or I wouldn't be reviewing it;) The building was stunning! I know that they have put a lot of money into the renovations of this building and it shows. The seats were pretty comfortable, typical theater seats and like other reviewers have... More

The theater is breathtaking inside, dripping with chandeliers and very fancy looking. We went hoping to get rush tickets, but those are only available to college students from the area. We did buy "balcony seats" near the back for a 50$ showing of the lion king. Luckily, not a seat in the theater has an obstructed view.
