Allergist's Wife is not a very interesting show. Our mistake. Actors did was well as they could. Some miscasting (two characters who were supposed to be the same age were played by actors who were no where near the same age). There was probably not much more to be done with this script. Other production elements (set, lighting, etc) were... More

Wow. Powerfully crafted and doesn't lag-even though it is a 2 and 1/2 hour production. Casting is perfect, voices excellent both individually and in the many interactive pieces, and well integrated. Sondheim would have liked this production...fast paced and entertaining... the humor and absurdity of the plot amuse while the music and lyrics are gripping. Really enjoyed this Sweeney Todd!

This was my very first visit to the Lyric Stage Company and what a great first impression they made. The space is intimate and cozy - it's hard to imagine there's a bad seat in the house (I was in the 2nd row on the stage right front corner of the stage). Tickets were completely affordable ($36) as were the... More

We saw Into The Woods and were delighted at how strong the voices and acting were. 2 or 3 of the actors had Broadway strong pipes. The Theater is a little wonky. It looks to have between 300 and 400 seats which are wrapped around a thrust stage. It's small but not uncomfortable. Oddly, it is located on the 2nd... More

Lyric Stage is a gem of a theater! We have attended once a year for about 5 years now, starting with an unusual one-actor production of Wonderful Life, the famous Jimmy Stewart movie. Yes, 1 actor portrayed every role in the show, approximately 34 different characters. But it was absolutely hilarious, as well as touching, the actor was amazing, and... More

We saw a winter production of Death of a Salesman here. Everything about it was well done and the actors were extremely talented. We very much enjoyed our experience. It's a small, intimate theater in which there are no bad seats, so you really get to see the actors up close. We got our tickets online and picked them up... More

Small theater, stadium style seating, with approximately 240 or so seats. Whether one's seats are on the side or in the center, the venue is small enough for close proximity to the action. The purchasing of tickets online was an easy and error less process. For one performance I phoned in my order. The box office staff were friendly and... More

Always a delight to see such quality performances in such an intimate, pleasant theater. Not Broadway but far superior to much of 'off broadway' and other professional & semi-professional companies.Just saw a musical version of "Working". The Boston Globe criticized the fact that none of the performer had an outstanding singing voice. While this was true, they all had very good... More

Look folks, it's not Broadway, but they don't claim to be and they certainly don't charge Broadway prices (or other Boston theater's either). In a really relaxed, intimate atmosphere this small venue often really works very well. You won't have a 60 piece orchestra, but, when the show calls for it, there is nevertheless a very good musical background. The... More

Moved to Metro Boston from Maryland last year and immediately sought out a small intimate professional theatre company. Bingo - Lyric Stage Company of Boston. The plays are far ranging, the actors superb, the performances outstanding. And Spiro Veloudos, the Artistic Director seems omnipresent, making sure everything is "greased" and greeting and listening to the the attendees. Bravo!
