The South End is a vibrant culinary and cultural community, but remains an area less traveled by most who visit the city. Our "off the beaten path" experience combines delicious food tastings at 6 local restaurants and eateries with fascinating facts about the neighborhood. Our guests not only learn about the histories of restaurants we visit as well as the respective chef/owners, but additionally, between food tastings, this tour also sheds light on unique historical, cultural and architectural details of the neighborhood. The Sweet and Savory South End Tour is a truly comprehensive sensory experience, allowing guests to explore and enjoy the South End like a local. This 3 hour tour is packed with food and fun! All food tastings are included in the ticket price and add up to enough for a satisfying lunch by the end of the tour. This tour is suitable for a variety of ages and fitness levels. « less

We were gifted this tour and just cashed in on a lovely late August day. Alyssa started us off on time with a thorough introduction before we started tasting. I was worried we'd be overfull at the end, but we were served a wide variety of foods - sweet and savory, nibbles and half-portions - so I was not hungry... More

Bites of Boston Food Tour of South End Boston exceeded our expectations. The food establishments visited were varied & interesting. The food samples were delicious and the insights provided by Alyssa were WONDERFUL! We learned about the chefs, the owners & the South End neighborhood. A thoroughly enjoyable & enlightening experience. The bar has been set extremely high for the... More

Every summer, our department at work, chooses something fun to do as a group. This year, someone mentioned that the South End in Boston had a walking food tour, and we decided to give it a try. At the end of the 3 1/2 hour tour, I think everyone agreed it was a really great way to spend some time... More

My husband and I have visited Boston often and wanted to do something different on this visit. Our memories of the South End from the '70's weren't positive and we had not had a reason to visit it since then. Alyssa's tour sounded like an interesting alternative activity and the reviews here were encouraging, so we went. We were very... More

I LOVED the Bites of Boston Food Tour in the South End. Even though I have lived in Boston for 5 years, I learned so much new and interesting info about the South End, and tried places I have never been! All of the food was delicious, even though some were things I thought I didn't like or things I... More

This was a great tour of an area of Boston that I would have never thought to see on my own. The food choices were delicious. There was something for everyone. The tour could adjust to food allergies, which was nice for us since we had a couple of almond allergies in our group. The old neighborhoods were stunning and... More

My wife and I experienced the Bites of Boston Food Tour in Boston's South End this past weekend. What great fun! We live in central Massachusetts and frequently journey to Boston for food and events however the South End is not an area we know well, nor were we aware of the great culinary diversity to be found there. Our... More

What a fantastic experience! I was lucky enough to go on Alyssa's Food Tour recently and I loved it! While I am a local, the tour exposed me to restaurants and history in the South End that was completely new to me! Alyssa is knowledgeable, fun & accommodating to every person on the tour. We had some picky eaters on... More

The walking food tour was fabulous! My husband and I live in the Southend but we still learned so much about the history, architecture and restaurants with our wonderful tour guide Alyssa. There is definitely enough food tastings and interesting information on the chefs and their restaurants.

Thank you - it is always an honor to host our own neighbors on the tour! We often learn as much from you as you do from us, which goes to show there is always something new to learn and explore - even in our own backyards. Thanks for joining us and we look forward to seeing you around the... More

we enjoyed the tour - 6 bites was enough but it should have included only one dessert Also would have preferred a different restaurant tasting than the cheese store Also the appetizer at the Venezuelan was not very imaginative The meat loaf sandwich was exceptionally good and the Fried clams! Alyssa does an excellent job - enjoyed learning about the... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are thrilled you enjoyed the tour, especially loved 3 of the foods you tried and found your guide to be excellent. We regret this translated to only an "average" experience for you. While you may not have loved some of the tasting locations as much as others, we have... More
