This is a really nice, old, ornate auditorium/concert hall of great character, ambience and charm. There are oldish green leather seats which add its appeal although I did think the rows of seats could have been more steeply tiered/stepped to afford a better view of the stage - we were in ORCH S3 and S4. However this is a minor... More

There are many concert halls in the world but Symphony Hall is Boston is one of, if not the best! The walls of the stage slope inward to help focus the sound. The side balconies are shallow so as not to trap any of the sound, and the recesses of the coffered ceiling, along with the statue-filled niches along the... More

While the hall is rather ho-hum from the outside, the inside hall is rather plush and it's square shape and perfectly designed aquoustics have stood the test of time.

You have to be really careful with the seats. Avoid seating in the back where the seats are covered by the balcony. Once I saw the first part of the Mass in B minor and the sound was the most awful thing I have ever heard. During the same concert I moved closer to the orchestra in the center and... More

We attended Film Night with John Williams on Saturday, June 7, 2014. We took the T to Mass Avenue and then walked the short distance to Symphony Hall. The performance was fantastic. The sound quality in Symphony Hall is great, but our seats were not. We were in the second balcony on the right in row A, seats 37, 38,... More

We saw a concert here whilst visitng America. I remember my father playing Boston pops music when I was a child and this didn't disappoint and reminded me of my childhood. We ordered tickets online in the U.K. and collected an hour before the start. The acoustics in the hall were great and the seats were very good too. 2nd... More

Busy concert hall convenient to public transit. Lots of good restaurants in area. Both the symphony during the winter and the pops during the summer are among the best music programs I'm the world.

First time here. Seats a bargain. We sat at a table for five and being the first ones there got to pick out seats. They were padded and movable-OK. The Pops were terrific! The hall has great acoustics . Easy parking just down the street. Tip: Pre-pay the parking so you can just go to your car and GO!

I had been in Symphony Hall many times for a different kind of events, and it always good. The Boston Symphony is simply one of the best in business. Maestro James Levine did a good job to get an orchestra in excellent shape, and without him it continue to be strong. Boston Pops is a bit lighter, but still OK.
