Walking Boston is Boston’s only historic tour given by a children’s book author and Boston historian with family ties to the Sons of Liberty and Paul Revere. Imagine yourself touring Boston with an actual relative of the legendary Paul Revere! Ben Edwards is a creative and engaging tour guide who offers private tours at a comfortable pace. I was put in charge or finding a good Boston walking tour following our big family cruise down the St. Lawrence. I saw these reviews—then looked at Ben’s website. I could have searched further but had a strong hunch I didn’t need to. I was right. Once I suggested the tour to the patriarch (Dad), and he booked to tour,... More

This was our first family trip to Boston and we couldn't have found a better way to explore the city. We learned so much from Ben in just the few hours we spent with him on the tour and we feel very lucky to have had such a unique and memorable opportunity to experience Boston. We also appreciated his recommendations... More

Ben's Walking Boston Tour exceeded all expectations for exploring Boston for the first time! Ben's enthusiasm for the city was contagious as he engaged us with his animated presentation using props and asking trivia questions (Pay attention...there may be a surprise at the end). Ben is not just a tour guide--he is a published author, engaging entertainer and passionate about... More

Ben Edwards knows Boston and he genuinely enjoys sharing its history! My family and friends, including 6 teenagers and 7 adults spent 4 hours with Ben on his Walking Boston tour on July 4th. The tour began with a reading of the Declaration of Independence at Faneuil Hall. Then we walked the Freedom Trail visiting Boston Common, Granary Burying Ground,... More

For the last several years, Ben has led our 3rd Graders from Hanover on a walking tour of The Freedom Trail. The students learn about the history and sites in the classroom and then have the opportunity to visit the sites in Boston. Ben has a unique ability to weave the history of colonial Massachusetts during the time of the... More

This is an incredible walk through history filled with detailed facts that you cannot wait to go home and share with your family. Our fifth graders LOVE this trip! The children get to participate with props, prizes and puzzles to solve along the way. As we walk they observe the city with a historical surprise around every corner and gain... More

Ben did a super job of customizing the tour for our middle-school aged kids and keeping them interested and entertained despite uncomfortably hot weather. We all learned a lot and it was definitely a highlight of our vacation.
