I took my girlfriend to the Blue Man Group performance as she had never been and we absolutely loved it. I loved that Charles Playhouse was a small venue making it very interactive with the Blue Man Group. We even got a picture with one of them at the end. Would definitely recommend if you have never been!

We bought these tickets for our daughter and her boyfriend, but with the snow they were not comfortable driving up here so we took them. We sat in the front row dead center. Not a good idea. It's difficult to see because you are inches from the stage which is about 4 feet above you. All night you spend looking... More

This show is difficult to describe because it really isn't about anything. It is just weirdly cool and entertaining. Three poker-faced, silent Blue Men drum, eat cereal, throw marshmallows, paint, etc. for about 90 minutes. They also interact with the audience, which is fun and unsettling since the Blue Men don't talk or smile. If you want to improve your... More

We seen this shows 3 times over a decade and it's been pretty entertaining every time. Some things change every few years, and some identical to what we've seen 10+ years ago. Overall entertaining for both adults and kids. Instead of doing the identical Twinkie skit for years, they should take the similar concept, but change it up for those... More

Wasn't sure what exactly to expect of this show but thought it would be a fun family event. It was a really fun, different show that only got better when our teen was taken up on stage to do part of the act. She joined right in and I laughed so hard I was crying! Definitely worth the money to... More

Be forewarned that you will be subject to a search with a metal-detecting wand and asked to empty your pockets when you arrive at the theater. If you're someone (like me) who needs to stretch your legs out when sitting for a long period of time, the front row, balcony is a terrible choice. From what I could see the... More

We didn't know what to expect. While some things were creative, overall we were bored. VERY childish. .Would not recommend it to adults unless you think the Three Stooges are funny.

Crazy! Mind blowing! Unique! Intriguing! So much color, rhythm, fun! So much fun for the whole family - no matter what age. We have never seen a show like this. We were entertained and mesmerized the entire show. So worth the money and time to go... would love to see it again!!!

Had a wonderful time AGAIN at Blue Man Group show in Boston Charles Playhouse. Not a bad seat in the house so don't have to spend top dollar to get a good seat. Really nice small venue and so very audience interactive. Laughed and sat in awwww for 1-1/2 hours. Recommend this show for ANYONE..... I cannot think of anyone... More

I knew a little about the Blue Man group when we went to watch them, but they definitely surpassed all expectations. The show is very entertaining and they also do a lot of effort to engage with the audience. One problem with our show was there was a large school group also there and unfortunately they were quite noisy throughout... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
