My friends and I went to Jacques for the New Year's Eve party that the bar was hosting. It was a blast, and was a huge bargain. For the 15 dollar cover we got front row seats to the drag show, a personal bottle of champagne each, and a large pizza. I also ordered a drink at the bar and... More

Having been to Drag shows in NYC, this one was a huge disappointment! The performers were all about collecting the dollar bills instead of putting on a show.

We went to Jacques, after an absence of many years. The place has not changed in appearance, but it's audience has changed drastically! The place was crowded, but not full, and we, as a gay couple, were among the 6 men in the room. The rest of the audience was bridal parties, out for a fun evening. While the drag... More

A mom's night out, in the middle of a cozy neighborhood, in the basement of a bar, a night full of laughter, great music and gorgeous women! Bring your dollar bills and enjoy the best 90 minutes of your life!

Went with my sister and a couple of nieces after dinner and a play: what an unexpectedly wild end to a night on the town! My sister insisted on finding Jacques for a "quick drink" to end the night. The rest of us had no clue what we were in for... The venue was a bit hard to find, down... More

We recently stopped by Jacques on a Wednesday night for a bachelorette party. When you walk in it seems less than impressive but the show was amazing. The drinks were in small cups but were strong. The entertainment was an absolute blast. Make sure to bring lots of dollars to tip the performers and enjoy. Also, they don't take credit... More

I was there for a bachelorette party, which from the looks of it, so was everyone else. There was at least 8 brides to be there. So much fun. Tiny drinks but they did have a kick to them. It was absolutely packed the night we went. The whole place was clearly having a fantastic time, us included. Loved it.

Jacques is awesome! I took my girl friends for my birthday. The cover charge was $7 and so totally worth every penny! Several other people were also there for their birthdays so we got to go on stage and get felt up by one of the "ladies". The show was so funny! Great music, dancing and costumes. The "ladies" were... More

Jacuqes is a great bet for a night out (of the ordinary!) The cabaret shows are fun, the drinks aren't all that expensive, admission is pretty cheap. If you're there for the entertainment, be forewarned that you'll have to put up with bachelorette parties more often than not (seems to be a popular destination for the brides-to-be). For a drag... Went here with my mom and sisters on a trip to Boston a few weeks ago and what a show this was! So much fun! Didn't stop laughing the entire time! Admission is cheap and the entertainment is priceless! Would do again next time in town.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
