An experience on the Charles River from our Boston location in Allston/Brighton is a wonderful respite from the surrounding city, with parkland on both shores and rowers plying the waters. Head downstream and you'll encounter local colleges (Harvard, M.I.T., and B.U.) and eventually the Esplanade (a great picnic spot!) and the unforgettable Boston skyline. This nine-mile stretch of river has no current, allowing painless round trips. However, renters can also enjoy one-way trips to or from our Cambridge location in Kendall Square — a unique way to see the city! « less

Our friends, my husband and I decided to go for an afternoon of kayaking on the Charles on Labor Day. We went to the Soldier's Field location as the Kendall location reported they were having a blue algae problem. The parking lots were quite full when we arrived, and our friends had some trouble finding a spot, but soon we... More

Went kayaking yesterday in the Charles with equipment rented from Charles River Canoe and Kayak. The process of getting the kayak was quick and easy. The equipment was good quality and the staff was helpful. There was a lot to choose from... kayaks for one or multiple people, standup paddle boards, canoes, etc... Safety equipment was more than adequate and... More

We had a great time kayaking the Charles river in Boston. Charles River Canoe& Kayak had great equipment for an inexperienced paddler like myself. It was easy to paddle the river and great to see the city from another angle. I would highly recommend this activity.

My friend and I rented a double kayak and spent about an hour on the river. We had a really great time and I would definitely do it again. Check out an article I wrote on the experience: http://www.examiner.com/article/row-along-the-charles-and-make-a-splash-boston-s-summer?cid=db_articles

Every part of our experience of watching the fireworks from our canoe was incredible (even the 10 minutes of torrential downpour)! The Canoe company was very helpful and friendly, I would recommend using them.

Arrived at this place late afternoon and had to wait for a 4 person Kayak but not too long. 1 and 2 person kayaks were aplenty. Rented for only about $30 for hour and the location is great. They validate parking also. On the river the location is great also. You launch from a small inlet to the river and... More

The Broad Canal in Kendall Square used to be part of a system of canals when Cambridge was still an active seaport. It now houses one of five Charles River Canoe & Kayak rental spots. We went on a guided tour of Boston Harbor - down the canal, out to the Charles, through the Charles River Dam and locks, then... More

This spot is a great location located right on the Charles in the heart of Boston that will allow you to rent a canoe or kayak very easily and take it for as long as you would like charging by the hour. They have newer Canoes and two to three person kayaks with all the gear. They even had sunblock... More
