Seating is cramped and not comfortable but to be expected in such an old venue. The sound quality is excellent.

We came to see Flashdance which was a very good show but spoiled by the fact I was crushed in my seat. Intermission couldn't come soon enough. Be careful where you sit as location is everything. We were in the first row of the balcony which you would think would have room. I'm 6'3" We were fortunate to find a... More

We went to a show last night at the Colonial. Although the theatre is beautiful and convenien,t it was quite possibly the most uncomfortable night I have every spent at a theatre. I am 5'4" and my knees were touching the seat in front of me. My husband is 6'3" and he was in such noticeable discomfort that the nice... More

While this is a beautiful theater to look at from the inside, there is less than 6-8" of space between the end of the seat and the seat in front of you. I kid you not. My gf who is 5'3" could barely manage, and I who am 6'5" was crushed in my seat, knees painfully pressed up against the... More

The theatre is a must to see, and is an old style theatre that is rarely seen today. Even though we sat right at the back of the theatre we still could see very well

We saw "million Dollar Quartet" in October, with tix from a discount seller - stub hub. The Energy of the show was breathtaking,as anyone over 55 will remember. The story is set on a December night in '56 at Sun records, and features, Elvis, Sam Perkins Johnny Cash, and a wannabe Jerry Lee Lewis. Over two hours, the audience is... More

I saw the same show during a run at the theatre and if I based my review on the first visit, the score would have been zero. While the theatre has been described as "cozy" by some, they were not likely in the balcony. The seats there are hard and narrow and the stairs to get to these seats are... More

Alert to tour companies - do not attend events at this theatre if anyone in your group has a walking disability. Do not assume a disability will be accommodated; not only will you not be accommodated, you will be rudely treated by the staff. Our tour guide was misinformed that an elevator existed in the building, or that accommodation would... More

I'm so glad the theater is back in operation after a brief hiatus. Easy access to parking garages and plenty of restaurants.

This is an elegant yet cozy theater in the Boston area. I enjoying going to shows here as it is not overwhelming.
