We've done lots of these, including historic submarines, schooners, ships, boats, etc. This is a well-produced tour (provided by active-service Navy personnel) that really lets you see a lot of the ship, and learn a lot about its life in service and American history. more

Still grand and imposing, the U.S.S. Constitution is definitely worth a visit. Groups of people are sent onto the ship at a time (and I agree with an earlier reviewer that the groups need to be smaller). You don't have a standard "guide" but are ushered to different areas of the ship were actual, active-duty seamen (and seawomen) explain that... more

Old Ironsides was not open on Monday following Fourth of July but even the view from afar with everything else open was good. more

We had about a 50 minute wait to get on the ship, the young girl from the Navy that was outside with us was great. The ship is covered and it is really difficult to tell what it would really look like. The Navy personel on board were wonderful. They were very good about engaging the group. I hope to... more

I've been back multiple times since I first saw Old Ironsides as a kid during the 1976 celebrations and will continue to visit when friends and their kids come to visit Boston. Any lover of naval history, Patrick O'Brien/C.S. Forrester novels, and/or early US History should certainly visit. And while this ship antedates the colonial period and the Revolutionary war,... more

I still remember it. It was a very moving experience to stand on the deck of the Navy's first commissioned vessel. I don't remember if there was a museum at that time - I know we didn't visit it if there was. I highly recommend visiting this proud old ship and experiencing history first hand. more

I didn't think I was going to enjoy touring a ship but I really enjoyed this. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the Boston area if you love history. The tour and museum are free. A donation is recommended but nobody hounds you about it. The ship is still commissioned and has a crew of 70 from... more

Living history at its best and it was FREE! Quaint little museum, nice gift shop and a selfguided tour above deck. If we had been able to wait another 15-20 minutes we would have taken the guided tour below deck. It is an amazing ship with amazing history. more

I visited Old Ironsides with my husband and three children, ages 14, 12 and 8. The security was not a big deal, just put metal in the bin and go through the screener. The wait for the tour was about 20 minutes once inside the security area. the tour doesn't last very long, maybe 25 minutes in all but well... more

I was really a fan of the below deck tour as I much enjoyed the narrations of what the sailors' lives were like and it was interesting to see how everything was operated. Highly reccommnded! *Sailors: be sure to wear your uniform to skip the security check* more
