I didn't think I was going to enjoy touring a ship but I really enjoyed this. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the Boston area if you love history. The tour and museum are free. A donation is recommended but nobody hounds you about it. The ship is still commissioned and has a crew of 70 from... more

Living history at its best and it was FREE! Quaint little museum, nice gift shop and a selfguided tour above deck. If we had been able to wait another 15-20 minutes we would have taken the guided tour below deck. It is an amazing ship with amazing history. more

I visited Old Ironsides with my husband and three children, ages 14, 12 and 8. The security was not a big deal, just put metal in the bin and go through the screener. The wait for the tour was about 20 minutes once inside the security area. the tour doesn't last very long, maybe 25 minutes in all but well... more

I was really a fan of the below deck tour as I much enjoyed the narrations of what the sailors' lives were like and it was interesting to see how everything was operated. Highly reccommnded! *Sailors: be sure to wear your uniform to skip the security check* more

Ok , from a purely historical point of view, this ship has a very important value. It's very interesting to learn about the way it's build, the battles it fought... I understand why "Old Ironsides" is so important to Americans and everybody who is interested in American history, including myself. From the outside the ship looks very nice, exactly the... more

I just want to say first that The Old Ironsides is a bueatifull, well kept ship, with lots of history. I loved the ship. The tour consists of the upper and lower decks. The tour was ok but would have been better if it were much smaller groups of people. I was on the first tour of the day at... more

I've been to the U.S.S. Constitution all three times I've been to Boston. The first two times were compulsory as part of a school skiing vacation but I did enjoy it - so when I went back with a friend this year I took him over to it and enjoyed every minute again. The naval yard is not near any... more

This is definite history that needs to be seen. It sits in the old historic Boston Navy yard with great views of the city and is a site that is for the entire family. The ship is the oldest active ship in the Navy and is turned around every 4th of July so that is another sight to watch! The... more

We (4 mid-twenty aged adults) visited the Constitution in Dec 07. We took the T to the Community College stop and did a 15 minute walk to the ship. You must pas through an airport style security screening to enter the ship. The line was short and it only took about 3 minutes to complete. You enter the ship on... more

The guided tour was worth the extra 10-15 minute wait. If you take the self-guided tour, you only get to see the top deck. By taking the guided tour, you get to see the lower decks and hear/see how the ship was built and the battles it fought. A great FREE attraction, although watch where you park! The signage isn't... more
