Perfect peaceful getaway for an hour or so. Take a stroll around the lake that is abundant with birds, watch the neighbors sail their small boats or fish, have a picnic, and just breathe some fresh mountain air. It's located right by the Bird Sanctuary, so you may want to take some time to visit that as well. Parking can... More

This isn't really a tourist attraction, but sometimes you just need to stretch out and walk. This is the best place in Asheville to do it. The trail is level with only a very gentle incline on the portions that hug the road. The parts down by the lake are board flat. The walking surface is fine gravel which gives... More

I wouldn't consider this an attraction. It's a basic neighborhood lake. It has a nice lawn area, and a walking/running trail. If you just want to get outside for lunch it's a good call but, I wouldn't plan a day around it.

My personal experiences as a man have been quite scary with the warden here. I strongly advise women not to go here unless you wish to be harassed by the warden on his eternal power trip and an itchy trigger finger. Just... don't. There are safer and more fun places to go in Asheville and you don't have to pay... More

Be advised that this is a private lake and the home owners allow people to use it. There is a $50 dog walking fee that provides for doggy bags and maintenance of the lake. The warden has always been friendly to us. We love walking and running there. It is so peaceful.

I read very mixed reviews about this park, but had to add that I loved my run here this morning. I didn't have a dog and wasn't boating or fishing, so I didn't need to worry about permits. I just had to make sure I didn't run through the bird sanctuary. It was peaceful and beautiful and close to where... More

First of all please be aware that this is a private lake. The city has nothing to do with it. The Lake View Park Commission pays for the warden as well as the upkeep of the lake. Please remember that when you visit. The rules are posted at the ranger station, which is the brown building in the parking area.... More

Yes..I'm a non resident of the Beaver Lake area. Been coming here since a young boy...I'm also very familiar with the Ranger Billy Jenkins. I've seen him endure the most irritating confrontations with people who don't understand the Lake area is not a piece of public property. The Lake owners kindly allow visitors to walk and rest all along the... More
