I;d heard about Malaprops and wanted to check them out while we were on vacation. The bookstore isn't very big but has a fair amount of books. I would say their focus in on local authors (superb) and oddities. Hubby and daughter didn;t find anything they wanted but I found some great local books and a cute Malaprop's coffee cup... more
This is a small downtown bookstore/cafe. It would appear that they have quite a few authors that stop by for signings so check the website calendar if that's your thing. This downtown bookstore is one of my favorite getaways while spending time downtown. A true sense of asheville lifestyle and atmosphere. Wonderful books, cozy cafe and a schedule packed with author readings, poetry nights and so much more. This is a must visit place and a wonderful gem in Asheville's downtown area. more
Filled with character and great variety. An example of why independant bookstores are better than big box stores. Loved it. more
