Beautiful cemetery and took a few minutes to look at the more famous residents. Was unable to locate the graves of my great grandmother & grandfather or great aunt, not the fault of the cemetery. Would suggest putting a sign on Munford Ave to help people navigate their way to the cemetery.

Historical and picturesque, Riverside Cemetery is the place where a lot of locals come to ponder life and our connection to the past. It is beautifully laid out with towering oaks, gorgeous mausoleums, statuary, gardens, ornate headstones, and meandering paths. This place is... More

A beautiful, shady cemetery in Asheville. The graves of O.Henry and Thomas Wolfe are here, as well as thousands of others. The scenery is beautiful. Take a few hours to check it out, walk the hillsides and enjoy.

This is a hilly cemetery which has beautiful areas of trees and shrubs. It is hilly so you can get a good workout as you seek Thomas Wolfe's plot.

Must disclose prejudice - several generations of my family in this cemetery! Wonderful topography and mature trees. Very interesting older stones, monuments, mausoleums. Closely tied with history of Asheville and Buncombe County. The terrain makes it beautiful - not just a big, flat field sprouting tombstones. Although it is a large cemetery, any particular grave or group of graves has... More

I take pictures in old cemeteries wherever I go and this is a fascinating place for it. It is a peaceful place to ruminate about the history of these families and the city.

We drove through the cemetery and it was so peaceful. Beautiful and the biggest cemetery I have ever seen. Definitely worth a visit to drive through and see this well maintained cemetery.

Enjoyed the history and quiet sense of peace here at the Riverside Cemetery in Asheville. Beautifully maintained since 1895 and close to downtown- don't miss it!
