I have several family members including distant cousin and Asheville native Thomas Wolfe buried there and it's a very nice cemetery to walk around. The poet O Henry is buried there as well and people have left change on his grave side from time to time.

This is a nice, serene place to walk. Hilly with many large, old, trees. It's well cared for. Author O'Henry and other historical figures are buried here. Conveniently located near Historical Montford, near downtown Asheville, NC.

It felt weird to "rate" a cemetary! However, if you love history, go here and plan to take some time to read the head stones and wander the grounds. It's a beautiful spot.

Beautiful cemetery and took a few minutes to look at the more famous residents. Was unable to locate the graves of my great grandmother & grandfather or great aunt, not the fault of the cemetery. Would suggest putting a sign on Munford Ave to help people navigate their way to the cemetery.

Historical and picturesque, Riverside Cemetery is the place where a lot of locals come to ponder life and our connection to the past. Riverside is as much a park for the living as it is a rest for the dead. It is beautifully laid out with towering oaks, gorgeous mausoleums, statuary, gardens, ornate headstones, and meandering paths. This place is... More

A beautiful, shady cemetery in Asheville. The graves of O.Henry and Thomas Wolfe are here, as well as thousands of others. The scenery is beautiful. Take a few hours to check it out, walk the hillsides and enjoy.

This is a hilly cemetery which has beautiful areas of trees and shrubs. It is hilly so you can get a good workout as you seek Thomas Wolfe's plot.
