Pack Square is a great little green space where events are held. If you are visiting the city this is a nice place to stop and relax for a bit ... perhaps with a picnic. There are public restrooms available. If you have children, bring their swimsuits and let them play in Splashville! It's perfect if you need to cool... More

I have seen a lot of strange, weird, unusual, beautiful, talented, funky and generally interesting people in this area. Lots of terrific dining choices within a short walking distance. I've enjoyed hearing some really fine musicians playing for donations, while I have had a meal outside on Pack Square. There are lots of great little shops nearby.

Really nice park located in downtown Asheville with a great photo opportunity especially if you catch the correct lighting at sundown. It's nice to grab a coffee and take a stroll along the green areas and generally just chill and relax.

This was my first trip to Asheville in some years. Pack Square is now opened up, well designed, and is bordered by some lovely historic and contemporary buildings. In particular, the Biltmore corporate headquarters, designed by I. M. Pei, is striking and captures a wonderful reflection of the sky across it's facade. Across the way you can enjoyed The Chocolate... More

Cool place downtown that is worth some of your time especially if you are visiting the city center anyway! Nothing too special to expect!

We were here on a Monday about 5 pm, so that may be a factor; but the open Square has changed since the last time I was there. Then; clean, lots of families and students. Now: trash, homeless sleeping with their belongings, couples on the ground making out and groping each other; no families, lots of students. (Get a clue,... More

There is a lot to do in Asheville and here is where to get your bearings. It offers a sense of the 'culture' of the area and a place to set your compass/GPS for more to come.

Asheville has the most unique and attractive downtown and the area around Pack Square is the very center. It's an open area with a few large buildings, shops, and restaurants on one side and the famous City Hall and Court House on the opposite side. The openness gives it a really cool feeling to have such a nice open area... More

Pack Square has a lot of Asheville all in one place. The Asheville Museum, lots of restaurants, pubs, monuments, and sights. There are also street performers (silver lady, musicians, singers, jugglers, magicians, etc.). Weekends are the best time to visit and especially Saturday night. All are a great introduction to this city.
