Our married tour guides were in a hurry, but they were pleasant and moderately informative. It was a nice diversion from all the eating! My favorite part was seeing the burial place for the architect/builder. The dome itself is worth seeing, as it is a marvel of human design. St. Lawrence was much prettier on the inside than you might... More

The Basilica is a unique structure and worth a stop. It doesn't take much time but the building is worth a look both inside and out. If you have a chance for a tour, take it!

We arrived just in time for noon mass. Being a catholic I thought it was a lucky break not only could we view the church but also participate in mass. The stained glass windows are fantastic. If you are Catholic this is a must visit.

Truly a must see when in town, lovely church with lots of rich history. Easy to get to if you're downtown and doesn't take up a lot of your day, you can soak up the beauty and tranquility in half an hour. Good place to take a peaceful break. I live here and visit often.

We didn't expect to find such an amazing basilica in Asheville. Very peaceful - a nice break from the typical touristy activities. Well maintained - beautiful architecture and stained glass. Definitely worth a visit.

I thought basilicas were much larger. The outside was not so impressive but the inside is. There are little brochures at the side entrance for taking a self guided tour. They also have a guided tour after the noon mass on Sunday. The architecture and construction features are rather amazing. We attended noon mass on a Sunday and it was... More

While exploring the artsy- crafty side of Asheville take time to find a moment of peace (impossible at N.Damme). It is a magnificent expression of faith that should impress all religions.

Worth your time. It's in the downtown area and if your on Sunday you can attend the service. You will have to check for tours.

What a beautiful church!! The architecture of the building and stained glass is incredible. Don't be creeped out but ask about the person who is buried in the building!!!!!
