We visited Craggy Gardens to take the Douglas Falls Trail, which was a 6+ mile trail that leads to a 80+ tall waterfall. To get there, we took the Mountain to Sea trail for a mile or so to the trail head. The trail is very rocky, which is what makes it strenuous. The inclines never get too crazy on... More

We felt like we walked a lot with little direction as to where we were going to get to the advertised gardens. We think we made it to the main area, but nothing was in bloom & we thought it said June was bloom time. There was a covered area right before we got to the area we thought was... More

BEAUTIFUL views and relatively shorter hikes that reward you with stunning scenery! Definitely hit up this place if you love hiking and nature! We'll check out more of the trails in the C.G.s when we go back to Asheville!

I grew up going to craggy gardens and have always made sure to visit if I happen to be passing by. The hike to the top of craggy is easy and beautiful. Well worth a little effort!

Mom and I were driving up the Blue Ridge parkway and used the Craggy Gardens visitor center as our turnaround point. The views were spectacular! Restrooms were available if needed. The temperature drop from Asheville to Craggy Gardens was approximately 15 degrees which made it very comfortable. There was plenty of parking including handicap parking.

Nice bald on top. Shaded rest area to picnic on top. Well kept trail. The flowers were not in bloom so a little disappointed with that. The view was not breathtaking but nice.

In the off season this place could be fantastic. The views are amazing but for me the volume of people left me wishing I had just stayed at Mount Mitchell. If you don't mind lots of people this is a great hike. If you like serenity I recommend hitting the Deep Gap trail at Mount Mitchell. (Note by the time... More

My husband and I have visited here several times at very different times of the year and no matter the season there is always beautiful views. The Rhododendrons are definitely breathtaking if you can catch them in bloom, however it is not a wasted trip even if they are not in bloom. The trails are very narrow in some areas... More

We followed a side road that led to the picnic area (not marked on the map). We had a great view, lovely flowers, and very few other picnicers. You can walk to the Craggy Gardens Visitor Center from there, but we drove. If you have a National Park Passport book, be sure to take it to each of the visitor... More

Did the Craggy Pinnacle Trail with my parents who are in their 50's and not very active and it was fine for all of us. The hike is about 250 ft uphill with steps and some rocks so as long as you can climb stairs easily, you should be okay- a moderate hike. The views at the Craggy Dome are... More
