We enjoyed the art and had a hard time deciding what to buy. The diner was so cute! We ended up buying art and were happy we stopped by the Woolworth Walk

Since I am a crone sickened by nostalgia, when I saw the red and gold sign "F. W. Woolworth," I entered, my mouth watering for jelly beans, licorice whips and bullseyes. All I found was a lot of artsy-craftsy stuff, some good, most according to my fuddy-duddy opinion trite or not quite. I felt cheated! Bring back the jelly beans!

As a Londoner I was surprised on my first trip to USA (long ago!) to discover that Woolworths was American. Woolworths is long gone from both countries, yet here it was in Asheville. Mainly a local arts and crafts gallery now but its piece de resistance is the lunch counter that took me right back to 3rd Avenue and 86th... More

This is a very unique spot, all local artists and craftsmen, we picked up most of our gifts for friends from here. There is a cool soda fountain here as well that has burgers, sandwiches and things like that. Good prices and selection, great place for a tourist!

The Woolworth Walk is located downtown near plenty of cool shops and restaurants. We had so much fun exploring! Woolworth's should definitely be one of your stops. It is the original building, 2 levels with the soda fountain. The store is filled with stalls rented out by local artists who sell their goods. So much to look at and items... More

We were waiting for our table at a nearby restaurant and we just stumbled upon this place. We meandered the art booths for about 40 minutes and had a grand time shopping for some crafts.

I could have spent days on the Woolworth Walk. There are so many beautiful pieces on display and for sale that were painted and crafted by local artists. The soda fountain there brought back so many memories of my childhood. Just for old times sake, I drank a NuGrape soda in the bottle and could almost feel like I was... More

This place used to be a 5&10, but now a lot of artists and craftspeople have small shops there. I bought some attractive gifts at reasonable prices to take back to my friends. For nostalgia, there is also a working old-fashioned soda fountain.
