Whenever we are in Asheville, we try to go by and visit the Folk Art Center. Never fail to see something new and different. A must visit for artists and crafters.

The variety of skill and talent represented at the Center is beyond the usual. These are professional craftspeople, with prices that are fair for the work they have done, but beyond what most would pay for a memento.

Very informative place with items for sale. The items are a little pricey but the quality seem to support the prices.

This is a wonderful place to spend an hour or more. Plenty of local crafts and art. There is no entry fee. Occasionally they have shows so check their calendar. This is an adult friendly afternoon adventure and kids probably will be bored.

The center displays the work of talented artists who work in glass, fabric, pottery, jewelry, hand-made toys, and the like. This is a wonderful venue. We visit every time we are in Asheville.

The Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway offers the most choice items from local WNC artists. Everything in the shop is "judged" and there is a nice, small museum on the 2nd floor.

After a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway we discovered the Folk Art Center. There we found representative work from the best craftspeople of the area. Very enjoyable stop.
