Due in part to the proximity to the famous Penland School of Crafts, there are many galleries in western North Carolina representing the hundreds of artists and craftsman who have migrated to this area. Of all the galleries, the Blue Spiral stands out. They might not represent as many "local" artists as others, however the quality of the artists with... More

On New Year's Eve, we dropped in to celebrate the gallery's 25th anniversary. Awesome exhibits and delightful treats + champagne. So glad to have this gallery be such a major part of our fair city.

This gallery displays stunningly beautiful crafts and art, on three floors. Most of the items are fairly expensive, but the prices also reflects the quality. For a family on a budget, it can be thought of as a fantastic museum. We return to it each time we visit Asheville. Just a few doors from the Chestnut (restaurant), we often take... More

A super fine art gallery with some great selection in paintings, glass and sculpture. I could not believe they had Moulthrop bowls. Reasonable in price too.

This art shop is part of John Crams inspirations (he owns New Morning Gallery in Biltmore Square) in downtown Asheville. You will not find run of the mill artwork but very fine examples of art from around the Asheville area. It is interestingly displayed and not crowded. You will find a range of items - fine quality.

This gallery has beauty, class and charm. The gallery staff was friendly and very informative. If you happen to be in Ashville for one afternoon and evening, don't miss spiraling in the creativity of The Blue Spiral 1 Gallery; followed by a dinner at the Carmel's restaurant. The gallery's selection of contemporary designs and the quality of artists' work was... More

If you love art, especially contemporary work, you will love Blue Spiral! I never miss it when I'm in Asheville. Three floors of excellent work. Some real cutting edge work, most of it the caliber of the NY or Santa Fe galleries. I marvel at the quality of the workmanship here. Wonderful old building with squeaky floors right in the... More

Blue Spiral is no opportunistic gallery. No slick Florida art for the Miami crowd. They have real artists from the area and elsewhere. It is a solid, respectable and innovative gallery. A " "must go to" art venue if you want to see the real thing!

A three level open gallery space filled with fabulous mixed pieces from southeast region of the country. Every gallery seemed to be better than the last. A must see when in Asheville
