My Boyfriend(who is a chef) and I took the food tour hosted by Stephen on Sunday afternoon, our first day in the city. Knowing that there were some great restaurants and we wouldnt get to all of them in the two days we were there the tour seemed like a great way to start. Stephen was knowledgeable and the selection... More

We took the food tour hosted by Stephen & Cicily on a Friday afternoon and we had SO much fun. It was a great way to sample the cuisine at several great restaurants and check out the various menu offerings for the weekend ahead. Our tour guides were fun, knowledgeable and engaging - the kind of great people you'd enjoy... More

Stephen was a very interesting self-avowed history nut, and shares some interesting stories with us as we walked. The skies threatened and rain drizzled, but it did not hamper our tour! We had some tasty treats at 6 different restaurants, including some interesting chips with unusual flavorings, and wonderful summer sangria. We had a braised pork rib chimichanga at Zambra... More

Asheville literally has hundreds of (local!) restaurants! So many things to try, so little time. The solution? Eating Asheville tours! We stopped by 5 local restaurants and sampled tapas, modern Indian food, gourmet chips, gourmet sandwiches and chocolate! Many of these places also offered a small glass of wine with their samples, a great bonus :). My husband and I... More

This was my first food tour and will definitely not be my last. In 2.5 hours we got a great walking tour of downtown Asheville with delicious food and drink highlighted along the way. We went to 6 different establishments, all with varying types of cuisine. We walked in, sat down and were quickly presented with a small tasty dish.... More

An excellent, fun, and rewarding way to explore the city and its fantastic food. Our tour guide was great, not too corny, knew his stuff, and made the whole experience a lot of fun. While on the tour we made reservations at two of the restaurants (Open Table app!) and were thrilled we did. The tour was also a great... More

This is the first thing we did in Asheville. It was fun and delicious. We had sparkling wine, pimento cheese and smoked trout at Book Exchange, a lime drink, pakoras, okra fries and chaat at Chai Pani, bacon wrapped dates and wine at Table, pork roll and sangria at Zambra, 3 kinds of chips at Gourmet Chip Company and chocolate... We had such a great time. It was fun. I was afraid that it being 2.5 I would get bored. I never got bored once. My husband was little disappointed that they had no beer with any of the tastings. Beer city in all. Despite that we would do it a again.

Maybe my expectation was a little high, but I was quite disappointed with this experience compared to tours in other cities in the past. It wasn't so much of a tour as to "walk and eat a little". There wasn't much guiding or explanation involved, only a brief "here is _____ restaurant". We had a total of 6 stops, including... More
