While wandering downtown Asheville, stop in the Battery Park Bookstore where you'll find 4 curious levels with shelves stuffed with old books. You'll find nooks to sit and delve a bit further into interesting texts (one could almost get lost) as well as a common area to gather. There is a champaign bar, and cafe too.

Being surrounded by books was a pleasant light lunch fare. The decor was lovely. The Havarti cheese, bread, and cracker platter was just right for two.

This is my idea of heaven. Just go. Books. Cozy nooks. Coffee bar. Wine and champagne. Lovely staff full of kindness. Just go.

We stopped in to try a few of their wines. The Si Monet Sparkling Chardonnay had it paired with Smoked trout dip. I cannot remember the name of the other wine we tasted (thought I had wrote it down) but we paired that with Pimento Goat Cheese (from local Sunburst Farm) on Crostini. They also have a very large book... More

Battery Park Book Exchange is wonderful. There are two floors where you can lose yourself in books. There is a coffee bar and wine and beer. It is also dog friendly. There are comfy chairs and couches. You simply just don't want to leave. Stop by stay a while. You are certain to make a friend even if it's of... More

This bookstore is so cool! And haunted! The champagne bar was to die for! They have a hibiscus drink that I could easily spend my entire year salary on. The coffee smelt wonderful but I didn't actually have any. Lots of seating indoor and outdoors. Will return!

Such a cool bookstore! Has a great vibe to it with a very nice book selection! The only thing I missed was more food options besides cheese.

I spent two afternoons in this bookstore and loved it! What is cooler than a champagne bar and books? The first afternoon I ordered some coffee and spent a few hours reading. The second afternoon I ordered hummus with crackers and an iced tea. Really enjoyed my time in this beautiful bookstore and could have spent my whole Asheville vacation... More

Located in the Grove Arcade building, the Book Exchange is a delightful stop if you love books AND wine. Stop first at the bar and select your beverage, then wander the stacks to find a literary favorite or treasure. Collector's books, first editions, signed copies, and more. Then cozy up in a club chair or sit outside and sip and... More

Great concept. Unique place. Sip your drink, seat your comfortable old chair, your kids can play cards and you can enjoy your book.
