We have hiked in the Asheville area for years and finally made a trip to the Arboretum. I wish we hadn't taken so long! The wooden trails are incredibly charming and you feel much safer than braving the wild. The bonsai exhibit was very interesting and of course the gardens were charming and offered great photo opps.

If there was nothing on the property but the bonsai exhibit it would be worth the trip. The exhibits are great and the trails are beautiful. I would like to take a guided tour the next time that I visit.

The Bonsai gardens are not to be missed as they have been cultivated for a long time and presented here for a long time. The flowers, too, lend a Monet quality to the drive or walk. The brick pathways are reminiscent of English Gardens too.

Great nature trails and Visitor's Center. Unusual Bonsai Tree exhibit is awesome - and fall colors are beautiful (October 22nd). The nature trail to the Greenhouse is well kept and easy to walk on.

Gentle easy stroll around the grounds, nice to be out and in the woods. But the bonsai's are the highlight. Nice winding display area perfect of admiring and strolling and chatting.

We had friends sign us up for a three hour class at the arboretum and had a brief presentation before spending the balance of the afternoon walking and looking at various trees. Our guide, I think it was Jim, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. This was a good afternoon.

A beautiful place to go for a walk in the gardens any time of the year. The quilt garden is fun to look at and changes each year, there are often events and demos in the building and several woodland trails to walk with gardens all along the way.

Well layed out with attractive formal displays and a variety of hiking trails of varying lengths. Nothing too strenuous. We've done some picnic lunches and wines and cheese stops along the trails - always a lovely place.

We started going to the Arboretum years ago and have become members because it is such a special place. You can hike and bike and see the gardens in all of the seasons plus check out the exhibits at the education center. We always recommend that visitors to Asheville be sure to see the Arboretum.
