I spent a few hours hiking in the park with my young son and we had a lot of fun. To help keep my son engaged and entertained during our hike, I found an interesting iPhone app called "Git Your Goat." It lets you create a lot of goats along the trail and when you reach the spot with a... More

We visited during cold weather so the garden wasn't at its peak. Still it was a very interesting visit. The gardens are well designed and give an excellent view of the types of plants that do well in this climate. The varying textures, shapes and colors are very artistic. Definitely a must for locals and a worthwhile stop for visitors.... More

We visited the NC Arboretum as a family. You pay to park, but not to get in, so the best deal is to go as a family. The flowers were beautiful, and I really liked the bonsai garden. We were already tired from previous hiking that day, so we didn't hike around as much as we should have. I's love... More

Well designed but not the place to be on a hot summer day. Loved the bonsai garden and the A/C of the education center after hiking down to the azalea gardens (who knew 1.3 miles was that far????) But great staff and spectacular scenery. Heed the GPS warning, not sure why they would not update their address instead of sending... More

My wife and I visited the NC Arboretum after checking out some reviews. It was money well spent. The only expense was to park the car, and that was very reasonable. We observed many impressive plants and arrangements thereof as we strolled through the gardens. Everything was labeled in some way, which is essential, due to the fact the we... More

Finally got to visit the Arboretum during a summer visit to Asheville. Have wanted to see this place in "full bloom" since finding it on a trip to Biltmore Estate at Thanksgiving. Visited in July and it was an amazing array of natural gardens, forested walk, formal gardening. I enjoyed the Bonsai very much! They had numerous examples of Bonsai... More

Great location, enjoyed the trails and bonsai garden as well as the gardens themselves. The volunteers in the buildings were all very friendly and helpful as well.

A truly beautiful botanical garden. The bonsai garden is special. Unexpectedly, the gift shop has an excellent selection of items from local artists.

Great visit, both to the beautifully landscaped gardens and to the hiking trails beyond. Spent about 4-5 hours there, all of them thoroughly enjoyable.
