Walk around and weave through our beautiful native plants, flowers and bushes. Go on one of the trail walks. Then don't forget to go inside and look at the culture of our mountains and art work! Beautiful, relaxing place to visit, often.

The NC Arboretum is both relaxing and visually appealing. There are many flowers and trees; the bonzai garden is really cool, and many activities for kids. Other than that, there is not much to see or do, which is to be expected.

The highlight attraction of a recent trip my wife and I took to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The NC Arboretum is a stunningly beautiful campus in the Bent Creek area. We spent a few hours casually hiking the trails. As a hiker, these were not difficult in the least. The trails would be fine for beginners. Just a lovely area... More

This arboretum is young...and will need some time and money to be special. We enjoyed being outside for the afternoon, and loved the bonsai exhibit, but the rest of the grounds were taken up with ordinary flowers. The quilt garden was pretty and I understand it changes with the seasons.

We visited in March 17th of 2012. It was drizzling and not everything was blooming, but it was still so beautiful. We didn't have an umbrella, so we purchased one in the gift shop- very sweet ladies work there! My husband used this place as an impromptu back-up plan to propose... While we were there, a wedding was getting ready... More

The arboretum itself is beautiful and peaceful to walk around. They often have great shows in their indoor exhibition space; don't forget to check that out.

This was an awesome place to go for our anniversary! We loved the hiking & exploring. A MUST see for sure! We're already planning on going back in the Spring when everything is in bloom.

The gardens are really nice. The facilities are very accommodating. The hiking and biking trails encompass places for all levels of abilities. The lake is a nice place to picnic and swim. Plenty of parking is available.

The bonsai collection was fantastic, probably as good as I've seen. And there were attractive and peaceful paths and layed-out garden beds. But the areas with planned plantings and signs were pretty small and sparse. And given all the trees in the area, I would have expected a big area devoted to trees with signage, but there wasn't. There were... More
