My nephew graduated at the Asheville Civic center back in June. The facility seems perfect for events like this, but outdated for larger and modern groups. The parking garages seem suitable for the center. I wish the city would just build an entirely new event center.

We usually go to Warren Haynes' Christmas Jam annually. This September we came here to see Sturgill Simpson! The acoustics in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium were phenomenal!!

It cost over $70 per person, more than a nice classical music concert at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium upstairs. Both parking decks (Civic Center and Rankin Ave) were full. It was extremely crowded. The portions of wine and food were minuscule. Most food booths did not include a plastic spoon or fork, making it awkward to eat the food. There... More

This venue has had it's ups and downs over the years but we enjoy the central location - if you are going to a large event expect parking issues.

Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in the U.S. Cellular Center (formerly Asheville Civic Center) with about 2,400 seats is Asheville's venue for mid-size music and entertainment events and also is home of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Larger country and rock music concerts, plus exhibits and shows, are held in the Arena of the U.S. Cellular Center. Although this is an old auditorium,... More

We've been to the Civic Center for craft shows, a home improvement show, and--most recently--to see David Sedaris in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. For a city the size of Asheville, we are fortunate to have such a venue. The good: You can almost always find something to do/attend. There's a big garage fairly close. All the personnel are ultra-friendly and... More

This is one of my favorite places in Asheville. We went there one night to see a clogging competition and the next afternoon we saw the comedian David Sedaris. The theater where we saw David Sedaris was impressive with lots of character in its design. For a city the size of Asheville, the Civic Center successfully serves an important purpose... More

As I go in to my 13th year in beautiful Asheville (area) North Carolina…which is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC… I realized that I had not reviewed the Asheville Civic Center. It is a pretty good place to have fun and the variety throughout the year is extensive. Parking in Asheville is always a problem but... More

Lots of vendors and lots of variety. Not kid-friendly. Great rainy-day venue for adult visitors. We were there for a couple of hours, and the kids got very restless. There was only one small area for children (ages 3 and up) to create prints.
