My daughter and I recently enjoyed a relaxing soak at Shoji. We arrived in the late afternoon and enjoyed a beautiful sunset from our tub. When we needed some cooling relief we could either stretch out on the cool wooden deck around the tub or get really refreshed in the cold plunge. After our tub time was over it was... More

Shoji is very close to town, but feels like your miles away at the top of a mountain. After showering with their wonderful products and stepping into a robe and slippers I was ready for the Shoji experience. The water temperature was perfect, and although a busy Saturday, it felt peaceful and quiet. The sauna and cold plunge made for... More

I had a really nice time at Shoji Retreats recently. It's at the top of a mountain and so quiet and peaceful. The facility was very nicely laid out, very clean and zen like. We had a beautiful view from our tub and we were lucky that the weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky and sunny! As... More

And that's coming from my best friend who lives in Senegal now and insists on going to Shoji when she visits me in AVL every few years. Both of us have traveled the world for work and have visited spas on almost every continent. The welcome was warm and pleasant, the zen like atmosphere soothing, and the hot tubs sparkling... More

The Japanese spa treat experience is excellent. Beautiful setting reminiscent of the mountains of japan. Over looks the blue ridge parkway. It’s very peaceful quiet setting. All the staff is young, beautiful, and always ready to serve with a smile. The tubs have great privacy in the forest setting and are heated to perfection. Over night accommodations in top floors... I had such a great experience at Shoji retreats. After an all day drive from the coast, it was great to soak in the hot tub and enjoy the sauna. The entire facility was beautiful and the staff was great, especially Jordan at the front desk. I cant wait to come back for a massage when we have more time.

Recently, we enjoyed yet another wonderful relaxing afternoon at Shoji. For my wife and I, this is always on our "must do" list when we make it to Asheville. The staff is friendly, the facility tranquil, the selection of services is very encompassing. We arrived on a soggy, rainy, wet Sunday afternoon around 12:45pm, for our 1:00pm start time. The... What a wonderful relaxing experience! Great location on a mountain top. Beautiful views from our lower hot tub. It was very private and quiet. No swimsuit necessary, unless you want to go up the hill for the sauna & cold plunge. Which are not private. The Spa provides your Yukata, (traditional Japanese robe), towel and sandals. You do have to... More

If you want a high quality massage high up a Blue Ridge Mountain, preceded by an hour of soaking in your private tub in your own pagota, sauna, or cold plunge - this is as good as it gets. You can also go to the spa later in the evening. Great therapists, great attitudes, great service. Not the least expensive... More

When you arrive they ask you to take a shower before you enter their sauna and pool areas. You are given sandals, towel and a useless robe to wear. Inside the bathroom is a locker to secure your items. FYI it is your responsibility to keep up w/ your locker key so be prepared to wear it around your neck... More
