Beautiful Beaux Arts colonial mansion built in 1906 by Texas oil family. 12,500 square feet of space with sweeping porches, fine furnishings and valuable antiques. Spacious lawns, flower beds surround the three-floor home. Homeâs original furnishings on display. Check the website for special events. Guided tours at 10am, 11am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm with devoted volunteer-docent.
Closed Mondays,Holidays. $3/person. Children 8 years or older. Call for appointment to avoid disappointment. 409-832-2134.

This house is big and beautiful. Do not miss it.The guided tour took about 90 minutes and cost $3 for adults. If you take your phone, purse and/or camera with you, you will need to put those items in a keyed locker. The carriage house is a free self tour.

You must be at the front desk by 2:15 to be in the last tour.We were the only 2 and our guide knew here job. Great job young lady.

I toured the McFaddin Ward home in a very small your of just myself and a very nice and informative guide. I should have called for reservations but after the first tour was full, I came back for the second tour of the day and immediately began my personal tour. The home is amazing with all original artifacts and art...

Would recommend touring this beautiful mansion.. very friendly and loved the entry and gorgeous stairs. Staff knowledgable and very proud of the home.
