Wonderfully beautiful location with hiking trails galore. The lodge and cabins were well furnished and a day without TV, internet and phone provided us a step back in time to a more peaceful and relaxing way of life. That was only exceeded by the terrific and plentiful food offered by the Inn. The staff willingly provided a creative vegetarian option... More

Charit Creek Lodge is a beautiful, historic place to visit. I highly recommend it to trail riders, hikers and mountain bikers. The horse accommodations are safe and secure. The trails in and around are scenic and well groomed. The people accommodations are comfortable and fun. The food is outstanding! The host, Greg, goes out of his way to make sure... More

This will be at least the 3rd visit I have made to Charit Creek, just outside of Big South Fork. Obviously, it is a place I keep returning to. Each time, we have driven the gravel roads after traveling through Big South Fork National Forest. There is now a clearly marked parking lot where you can park and hike down... More

Excellent experience. My group was 3 couples and we hiked to the Lodge from about 7 miles west beginning at Sawmill trailhead. We reserved a bunk house room for $80 per person per night. This included potable water, bathroom with shower and hot water, dinner Sat night and breakfast Sun morning and beds with warm blankets. Both meals were very... More

We were hiking 4 days in Big South Fork and had dinner and breakfast at the Charit Creek Hostel. Staff was very friendly, very good food and got to enjoy the atmosphere around the hostel. This is a great get away. We camped on the island near the hostel.

I heard about this little gem through a friend who said this is a "must see" nature spot. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon this Spring season. It was warm and the sun was beaming through the trees, making the 1.2mile hike to the cabins a beautiful adventure. Seeing Charit Creek for the first time my first thought was, "Wow"!... More

I discovered this spot after disappointments with the LeConte Lottery process. I wanted to stay overnight but I was traveling with a party of non-campers. So we hiked the Twin Arches loop and stopped by to check it out. We received a friendly greeting, info about the lodging, refreshments for purchase, and some history of the site. The manager was... I would recommend this place to anyone who loves the great outdoors and can safely hike back in for about a mile. I carried a simple book bag to hold a water bottle, a flashlight, camera, p.j.'s, jacket and comb. If you plan to take a nice warm shower, BYO soap, towel, etc. Bathrooms are in a separate building and... More

My Grand and great grandchildren loved this place. Took four wheelers back on the trails to the old gravesite of my great great great Grandfather Johnathon Blevins.

This rustic lodge can be reached by hiking just over a mile from the closest parking lot. You can stay hostel style or for a bit more money they will prepare good hot meals for you. They supply wood for the fireplaces in the bunkhouses and hot showers. There is a nice dining area where you are served your meals... More
