This was actually our Post Office when we lived in the Everglades. It was so small inside that if there was already a customer, you had to wait until they finished to enter or you couldn't close the door. We lived there over 30 years ago and it still looks the same.

It's American novelties like the Ochopee Post Office that make US road trips so much fun. My wife and I arrived in Ochopee mid-afternoon on a weekday. The post office was open, so we pushed apart the sliding glass windows and came face-to-face with the post-woman, Shannon: a lovely representative of the USPS. You've got to see this government office... More

We drove by this place, then turned around! Couldn't believe it was a real post office. Turns out it was the smallest post office in the country!

It is a cute little shed, I mean post office. It was Sunday so they were not open, but I do not think there is to much to see inside anyway. It still was neat to see and take a picture. Hey how often do you go to the smallest post office in the country?lol

We stopped by on our drive to the Keys to mail a postcard we had picked up at our motel. The window was open and the clerk was accommodating. As a former postal employee, I could not resist stopping here

Cute and quaint, this little post office offers the traveler an opportunity to get out and stretch your legs and to photograph the smallest post office in the lower 48 states.

If you are driving the everglades on U. S. 41 (Gator Alley); you must stop and visit the smallest Post Office in the U. S.; even it is just for the bragging rights.
