The smallest worlds post office is right close to Skunk Ape Research so why not stop! It is a working post office - great place for a pcture. Cute.

Looked after so well by a wonderful friendly clerk. Had my cards stamped also with the special stamp for the smallest post office in USA. Will visit again.

I did not know this was in operation in the Everglades. What a cool stop, just to say you had been there and sent a note home from there.

I know, it's small. But, it is one of those things that you gotta see, at least once. It is considered to be the smallest post office in the united states. There is a sign there that talks all about it and it is really close to Alligator Alley (another must see!). So, while you go to check out the... More

It really is a fully equipped, functional post office. I stopped by on my way to Naples. The lady working there allowed me to peek in and see all the equipment crammed into a small space. She said that she lives nearby and takes time off to go home and use the bathroom. Lots of people stop by out of... More

Whenever I drive to the west coast of Florida, I always take Tamiami Trail, road 41. It is just much more relaxing drive, light traffic, and the chance to stop by the smallest post office in the country. You must be paying attention to spot it. The parking lot is actually pretty large considering the size of the actual office.... More

The building used to be a storage facility (shed) for irrigation pipes and was converted into a post office in 1953, after a fire which destroyed Ochopee's previous post office/general store. The post office serves the surrounding populations of Miccosukee and Seminole Indians and back in the day sold tickets for bus/trains. If you are in Everglades city, its worth... More

No idea this was here but we came upon it by accident on the way to Florida City. This is well worth stopping and looking and having a few pictures taken :) I would not drive here just for it, but if you are in the area it is worth looking at

My wife made me stop here while I was Skunk Ape hunting. It's unique and definitely worth a picture. Took 5 minutes and made her happy. Happy wife.. Happy life!
